I'm new here so I don't know if this has been asked. I have an 85 K10 with auto hubs can I change them to manual hubs using stock GM parts. Or do I have to buy after market parts.

Thanks I've looked at those before but I can get a real good deal on stock ones from my local parts store. I'm talking like $140 for bearing hubs and everything. That's way I wanted to know if you can replace them with stock GM parts

Warn or Milemarkers will drop right in once you pull all of auto locking hub parts out. Stock GM hubs should fit right in. Your existing spindle nuts should work fine, I'd leave them in. Some folks still use the auto hubs, you may find a home for those parts on ebay.
pro tip #138 - Bend a small kink in manual hub retaining clip before installing. Will make things lots easier if you need to pull hub in a remote location.

There is a special purpose socket for that, called a Spindle nut socket. Has 4 ears on it, does not fit anything but spindle nuts..

If you do not need Spindle Socket too often you can simply borrow fr your local O'Reilly auto parts store.

I bought my spindle nut socket about 87 or 88. I don't use it too often, but, i have it on the shelf when I need it.

yeah that's what I thought . If I buy I don't have to worry about renting it every time I want to repack the bearings or change the rotors or u-joints

I may be interested in the auto hubs for the right price! Thanks

I will probably sell them in a couple of weeks when I'm done rebuilding the front end. Just PM me with what you think is a fair price plus shipping.
