Can anyone with a late 80's/early 90's tailgate suburban tell me where the wires for the tailgate power window go through the firewall? You'd be looking for big (10 ga?) blue, orange and tan wires that go through the firewall with a pretty big (1.5") rubber grommet. I have the complete harness from another burb, but I don't remember where they went through the firewall. I thought I'd find a big blank plug that I could just remove but no such luck. If you can't find the wires I'm talking about I think there would be an orange wire and a pink wire connected into a 30 amp breaker at the bottom of the fuse block that you could follow.

I'm starting my barn door to tailgate conversion - tackling the wiring first since I don't have to do anything irreversible for that! I'll keep you posted how things go. With pics as soon as I do anything worthwhile.

Wire loom behind a booster check valve in the picture. On driver side of the firewall where it changes from straight to curve for the trans tunnel

Thank you - this is very helpful. I haven't looked yet but hoping there's a blank plug there and my job will be easy!

Dang, I see exactly where it should be since there's a hole in the insulation on the passenger side of the firewall, but no hole in the metal part of the firewall. Guess I'll just have to make my own hole, there is as good as any. But was really hoping for the easy button! Drilling through the curved part of a firewall is not my favorite thing to do. Thanks for the help.
