So my alternator ignition wire always has 12v even when keys on and it kills my battery in 2 hours. How do I go about fixing this do I have to take apart the column to get to the wires ?

Are you talking about the red wire in the plug, or the brown wire?

How are you testing it? If you have power on the brown wire with the ignition off, replace the regulator.
