I'm putting together the front part of my sbc 350. I was attaching the alternator bracket when I noticed my intake manifold doesn't have a place to mount the bracket. Is there a different kind of bracket. Apparently they just use 1 bolt, because this is the bracket that came off this motor. Thanks Jerry

Many different brackets over the years. Some just bolt onto the existing manifold bolts. Pictures would help.

I know a post 63 or 65 but pre 68 SBC does alternator on the other side and its kinda flimsy ngl. I dont think the heads back then had the bolts for the stuff. But on alternator bracket, do you mean the bracket that bolts straight down and kinda fights tortion from the belt drive trying to twist the alternator?

Here is a picture of what I have. There is no bolt hole on the manifold to hold the bracket. Apparently that is how that had it when I took it apart. There must be another bracket for this year. It was off a 1973 big 10

Torsion. Torsion is the word you're looking for.

Meanwhile, on one of my sbc's the alternator bracket ties onto a stud on the thermostat housing.

I have been hunting a bracket style for you....

This maybe?

The bracket on @AuroraGirl 's truck would need the bolt hole on the manifold. This bracket shown should reach the thermostat bolt???
