Air vent valve replacement

Ok, has anyone replaced their air vent valve on a like/near 1978 Silverado C10 with air with this replacement part? How do I attach the actuator and spring. Pictures attached. If so, could you please send instruction/pictures. Or, maybe I just need to rebuild my original with new vent seal.

As my luck would have it, I have to install a new heater blower tomorrow so I can pull mine out and take pix.

Got delayed. Picked up the blower motor...box had the right p/n but motor had a different # and wouldn't fit. Back to O'Reillys today at noon to pick up (hopefully) the correct one.

O'Reillys screwed me again but that's in the Rant Thread.

Ok, thanks for pics but the plate where the actuaror and spring connects are not the same on this new one I have. The connection points are not offset. So I guess I cannot use it and will just rebuild the old one with new sealing foam.

what foam did you use?

I was on USA1 with it and the panel seal in my cart then I saw $26 for shipping. They just lost a customer for a lifetime with that one lol.

Hello, Yeah, USA1 shipping is pricy. That is why I tried to combine as much as possible on an order. Don't write them off. They are a good group and have helped me many, many times. In their defense, everything from them came FedEx, so in 2 days, versus others whom I had to wait a week for parts.

So I went to Michael's (Hobby Lobby may also have it). They have the really thin craft foam. I drilled out the rivets and the old foam is sandwiched between the two pieces of metal (you already know that). I watched this video to guide me through it. While I had it apart I cleaned the metal pieces up and painted them black. Easy fix and works just like it should, maybe better.

I found thin raft foam at tge dollar store and then cut it to fit
