89 Chevy slave cylinder

Hopefully good timing me signing up here.
Over the past couple months clutch pedal in the little 89 went to fading away. Clutch never slipped, could hear the throw out bearing every once in a while, let off and mash her back down and silence, so, yea. Couple weeks ago no pedal no clutch, nada. Stick her in the shop till my roundtoit ain't square. Finally I remember to order a new slave cylinder, yesterday evening I put it on. How in the world does one get that thing bled?? Can open the bleeder and fluid runs out, pump the pedal stick a stick on it and nothing but fluid? Take off the master and it seems to be working, can put my finger over the hole and it is all i can do to push the plunger, so????? Even ignored it over night and all morning and still no pedal....???

With the slave cylinder unbolted from the bellhousing and the reservoir cap removed, manually push the rod fully into the slave cylinder. Do this slowly, a few times. It will push all the trapped air out of the hard line and out through the master cylinder reservoir.
