'87 ChevDoor pad removal

I've removed all the fasteners and am reluctant to pull harder with fear of breakage....any tips?

There's two panel fasteners on the bottom of the panel, one in the front and one in the rear

this type:

Get an interior trim tool to remove them:

For removing just the pad itself, there's the two screws visible from the top. Then there's one on the backside that requires the removal of the door panel to get to it.
