Sounds like a great deal just for the drivetrain, but hopefully it doesn't really have balljoints and he just dont know what he's talking about.

I'm going to say not much honestly. but it appears Dave will give you $1k so sell it to him  Anyone else will not give you much for a 454 unless you find someone who's just a fan of the old big blocks.

I was thinking around 3-400 bucks for it.

Dave would sell it for $1000 BUT if he was to BUY it he wouldnt pay more then $100.00

Actually around here if it has good compression Dave is pretty accurate. Anything redone can pull better than $2,000 and up.

Early this year I paid $1200 for a 90K 454, but it was from a reputable junkyard and came complete with accessories and complete TBI injection setup.

Same here guys. A good solid running 454 will get you $1000. I just don't get it myself. I'll take a decent running 350 for $300-$400 anyday.
The last 350 I bought, I paid $100 for a long block told that ran. My bro put his intake, exhaust, flywheel, starter and fuel pump on it, and has put about 2000 miles on it so far. He said he had to add a quart of oil a few days ago to put it back on full. A freakin $100 for a running motor with 30-35lbs of oil pressure.

Yup I agree
I got my last 350 from a friend out here for 300.00 dollars said it only had 50,000 miles and it runs strong and has good oil pressure, no burning oil etc..

But about 10 years ago my father sold a 440 block broke down for a thousand dollars I know that's a mopar motor but I'm sure you could get a 1k for a good running 454 any day ..
