Hey guys so I recently picked up this 70’s tailgate for my 87 which didn’t have a tailgate and I’m having fitment issues. My question is, if I ordered some 70’s hinges for the bedsides, should that take care of the issue? Thanks

Near as I know it should fit.
Why does it look like the opening is too narrow? Are you sure the bed sides are straight?

You will need the trunions from the 70's tailgate to make it work. The newer ones are smaller diameter I believe and that looks like your issue.

I didn't think there were any anti ford people left lol. Everyone and their dog has the F150 these days and Ford's reliability has probably surpassed GM at this point. But I think that happened in the late 2000's early 2010's. I always thought it was funny to see chevy guys hate on ford, but then be ok with dodge. Dodge easily being the worst of the 3 and still is.

While your stereotypical Ford and Dodge suck message is not totally out of line on a GM forum, I have to ask…. What exactly was the point of your post in THIS thread?
