Maybe it's not the pump...
The tank will rust, clogging the pickup sock.
If the rubber lines deteriorate, swell up, crack or swell up.
If they're cracked they will suck air.
I have the same issue with my 90. I have a reman i.p. and injectors. Going to upgrade to a 40 gal tank and replace the fuel lines.
Also, on 6.2's the timing chain stretches, making it hard to start and lowers power.
Idk if you already know, but check your harmonic balancer. A worn unit causes the crank to break.
