This isn’t tech, I know. But just posted on CL in Seattle. Looks legit. Not rusty. Add says runs and drives.
Looks like a deal for someone!

$500 ? Yes, buy it. Detail it / Flip it.
-Update: OK now that I’ve read the ad, it needs a lot more than I thought. Still could be a money maker if someone wants to put in the work.

Says it is a 91 but "clean carburetor"... so someone has butchered the TBI. Should be a factory 4L80E though... which is nice.

LOL - maybe they don't know what they are looking at. A TBI is a pretty clean looking carb like device ... :anitoof:

But, sadly, you may be right.

Sounds like scam central
It's still for sale today. No phone number, hate that....
If you look at the whole add, it feels legit and the pics are in the right area, etc. Scammers don't typically have 20pics and the description / detail.

Could be a scam, but don't look like it. Def worth more than $500, but it also looks like it needs one of everything and 2 or some things. Going through pics in detail, I can see why it's cheap. Plus square burbs don't bring much money up here. 4x4s to a comparable pickup, always way less $. 2wd's are basically worthless around here, can't give 'em away.

There's a

I don't want another project and too much work in that one to make it worth flipping. Used to do that alot. Now my hours are worth more than the money that truck would bring, unless I shipped it back to Cheeseland.

But AyWoSCH or anyone else, if you're serious and can actually get ahold of the owner, I have no problem going and giving it a serious once over and buying it as long as it drives home.
I'll check back in tonight before I leave work.

Example.
This thing has been for sale for quite a while.
Has rust starting around the roof seams and a big whiskey dent in a back quarter. Rest of truck is straight and rust free. Interior looks redone-ish.
Rockers and corners are minty clean.
That, and either slow time of year, or people are full of projects, seems squares aren't selling as fast or as much money as say last year.

Several times I have met someone that called a TBI unit an "electric carburetor".

I'd take it but the shipping would be 4x what he wants for the burb.

About a year ago I got a quote for shipping a similar vehicle from the same area. It would have run about $2100.

Oh, and from my truck shopping in that area about a year ago, I found that running and driving 4x4 Suburbans tend to sell for much less than a comparable 4x4 squarebody truck.
