First post on the forum. I have a stock '89 K5 Jimmy, very stock, UN-touched. So the instrument cluster came with no tach. I did a complete instrument restoration and did a factory tach conversion which is working. While doing the instrument work, I noticed why the 4WD light has never worked since I owned the truck. PIN # 14 on the cluster connector is empty. I traced the printed circuit board on both the original and new. Both are the same setup. 12V supply to the 4WD light bulb, and looking for a ground when in 4WD. Why is the factory cluster harness missing the 4WD light ground? It's pin # 14 FYI. I found a wiring diagram for the older trucks, makes pefect sense, but on my '89 I'm 99% sure I traced the Tcase black and white wires to a box/relay/module above the gas pedal.
