If you already have the HPtuner tool, you might not need another tool. You can use LSdroid without an android tablet now. They have a windows app. PCM Hammer is also a windows app and can be used to read/write the tune. Everything else can be done through Tunerpro on your laptop. The same guys that did PCM Hammer also have a PCM Logger program that will let you datalog.

I tried to download the Windows based LS Droid but my computer said it was infected with a malware called Blacklist and blocked it and would not let me download. I tried to download PCM Hammer but wouldn't load, I think it was because I only have Windows 8.1 and not 10.

The tune file might be locked, but you can just write over it with a new stock OS and put whatever you want on it. The express van 2156 OS is a popular one with lots of aftermarket support including XDF's. The LSdroid for windows now has a built in repository for stock known-good bin files. I'd suggest starting with a known good 2002 Express van bin since they came with 2wd 5.7/4L60e from the factory. You can even get fancy and put a 24x crank reluctor wheel on it and use the vortec distributor for a 1x cam signal to run LS CNP... I'd personally get a kick out of seeing a carbureted CNP setup :rotflmao:

I'll have to look up and get the 02 Express bin and xdf files.

There's a bunch all over the place. Its actually very simple in your use case. The easiest way would be to call up one of the companies that does LS swap harnesses and tell them what you are doing. They can provide you a harness that would plug into the trans and have open wires to go to Power, ground, tach, and TPS.

You can get a TPS sensor kit to bolt to your Holley here: https://www.innovatemotorsports.com...sor-tps-carburetor-applications-p-n-3930.html or use some other method.

You can also decide to modify a stock harness and use the info from various forums and websites like LT1swap. https://www.lt1swap.com/wiringharness.htm

Its really not bad... if you got a computer and pigtails from somewhere(they were in almost all 99-2003 chevrolet vehicles and will have the blue and red connectors) then you can just get the trans harness section when you get the transmission and connect them up. I think the transmission harness will only have 3 connectors and maybe 6 wires? Plus 1 wire for the tach and three wires for the TPS. It also would give you the ability to control electric fans and also to read out data over an OBD2 interface such as trans temp, coolant temp, RPM, TPS, etc...

I've been doing some reading on using the 411 as a stand alone trans controller. I did find a write up on the 411 computer and a 4l80e, and the guy said it's a little different using the 4l60e. I have all the wires from the trans plug pretty much figured out, now to match them to the computer. I do need some info on what wires to use for the input to the 411 other than the aftermarket TPS sensor.

I've been doing some reading on using the 411 as a stand alone trans controller. I did find a write up on the 411 computer and a 4l80e, and the guy said it's a little different using the 4l60e. I have all the wires from the trans plug pretty much figured out, now to match them to the computer. I do need some info on what wires to use for the input to the 411 other than the aftermarket TPS sensor.

I have a sheet I got from Lextech that has the pinouts listed for the 0411.. one of the requests from him when he provided it was that I not share the sheets. He provides pinouts for free though and you just need to contact him on one of the forums. He uses the same screenname for all of them. I think I got ahold of him on the LS1tech.com forum, but he is active on several similar forums. A little googling of his screenname and "0411" will usually show a few threads of people getting in contact with him for pinouts.

With that being said, I wont share his provided sheets, but if you try to get in touch with him and can't for whatever reason I can give you the 4L60E wiring pins into the 0411 at least

AHHHHHHH, secret is this paper! This is what I've found so far and I'll post it for everyone to see. I think I have the correct info for the inputs for the 00-02 4l60e.

The diagrams are for the transmission plug to the computer. If anyone wants to chime in, feel FREE to do so. I'll post the 03-07 transmission diagram later and the 4l80e is similar to the 00-02 diagram. I'm sure I found the inputs for the "CARBED" vehicles with an after market TPS, which I'll post later.

After all this is figured out, the computer will have to be setup to just run the trans. ALL the engine DTC's will have to be turned OFF with the exception of PO121, 122, 123, PO335, 336. You'll leave all the DTC's for the trans turned on. REMOVE all TORQUE MANAGEMENT and disable the ABUSE MODES in both engine and trans section.

If anyone sees that I'm missing something, please post it up.

Not 100 % oriented towards trans tuning but this will get you started. It's a lot of research but allows you to pull down and fiddle with the 0411 OS using Tuner pro. I was able to use it to remove the VATS and change some gearing settings on my LS swap but there are tables in the PCM for the transmission stuff, you just have to know what you are doing. I think using HP Tuner is probably easier and may switch to it because it is more supported but there are a lot of guys messing around with tuner pro getting it done.
