just picked up a 4.8, might be a 5.3, but will call it 4.8 unless proved otherwise at a later time. 200k miles, not locked up. Not sure what going to do with it yet. Need to get the formula figured out, then will start working on this 4.8. Probably not going to pull the heads unless have to. Going to stick a camera in to spark plug holes and investigate a bit.

awesome, there is a write up of a junkyard 4.8 pushing over 1000hp on multiple dyno runs

Stuck a camera through the spark plug hole and turns out it is a 5.3 instead of 4.8. Now it is destined for the camaro as it originally had a 327. But it looked really bad inside the cylinders, heads are going to come off for a better look.

My 5.3 in my Trailblazer is at about 210k and runs like a champ, although the front seal is leaky. Should make for a fun cruiser.

I have few things on the shelf for it. Ms3 cam, double roller chain, upgraded oil pump, dual springs, pushrods and maybe couple of other misc things. If i can find an old 4 speed m21 or m22 for not too much, and a set of 3.73 gears should make for a fun car. But will wait for a while as funds are not there yet

Nice! I just have a 262 in mine, but it works well offroad. The MS3 will be alot of fun to row gear's with.

Well, this did not last long. Due to other things this is moving right in to for sale section. And there i was excited to build another 5.3 for a bit.
