Really excited about my new truck; I'm having the 350 turbo transmission taken out and swapped for a good 700r4 to have behind a 350 motor. I'm providing the new transmission, doesn't need to be rebuilt or anything just a straight swap. Any ideas for what I should expect it to cost?

No ideas on shop labor rates - ive never paid a mechanic

However , a solid piece of advice for you is to MAKE SURE the swap-shop puts the correct bracketry on the throttle body/carb for the TV cable coming from the 700r4 and that its TIGHT or set by line pressure with a gauge.

That trans wont last 3 miles without it, unless its a aftermarket constant line pressure Valve body

What he said!! ^^^^

Too many people think as long as the tv cable is tight at WOT, then all is good. While that is partially true, it’s the other 95% of the throttle opening that will cause damage. If the cable is too lose at part throttle, then you will get mushy slip/slide type shifts. It only takes a couple shifts like that before the band/clutches are glazed, then it’s all downhill.

2WD or 4X4? Also, are you doing the physical swap or outsourcing it? Figure $150-300 for a cut/balance of the driveline by a driveshaft shop (or a new driveshaft) and perhaps some work to move the X member back. There's also companies that make custom cross members for such swaps.

Here's TV cable instructions if you're doing the install yourself.
