Those numbers aren't right. Iirc, 10 bolt is 3" and D44 is a little smaller. But a 10 bolt is certainly not 3.5", even the mighty 14 bolt axle is only 3 3/8.

maybe 2.5” and 3” then. i just used string to measure to tell which was bigger.

no idea what the numbers are. but the 10 bolt is definitely bigger tube size. so dana is going behind shop for something else some day

no idea what the numbers are. but the 10 bolt is definitely bigger tube size. so dana is going behind shop for something else some day
I believe the 44 has a bigger wall thickness.

but smaller OD ? that doesn’t make sense. does the 10 bolt just have a lot of clearance between the wall and axle shafts?

I just know I read that somewhere when people were bashing the 10 bolt. I run a 10 bolt, a 30 spline one with a posi in it on 36s and a big block and it hasn’t broken yet

and you said to find the 30 spline outers from a late model suburban? or is there aftermarket brand stubs to get

No the 30 spline part is on the inside the outers are the same. The inner axle is bigger. 90-91 Blazer and Burb. 89 is 50/50
