3.0 DuraMax swap

I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has contemplated or done a 3.0 DuraMax-Trans-Transfer case swap. I know at first blush it would require a different front differential with a left hand input and I'm also assuming the electrical/computer conversion could be extensive to say the least. I'm driving a 2024 Silverado 1500 with that drive train and have to say I'm extremely impressed. This little engine is torque monster and would be a perfect fit for my 1988 V320 Suburban, if the swap isn't completely out of reason. The vehicle will be getting a new power plant in the very near future one way or another and I felt it might be worth exploring the feasibility of the DuraMax swap prior to diving in.
