Picked this truck up a couple months back. 7500 miles on it now, about half of which I’ve put on. The Ranchos that came in it aren’t good. Decided to do something about it today. I ordered the Eibach pro truck springs/shocks, some firestone airbags and 5 Cooper tires. The Eibach kit should add 2.5” to the front and level it out. Should be here Thursday and if I’m lucky, get installed Friday. Yes, yes, insert new truck hatred here and flame on! Lol

Ah, alas. The LAST year of what I'd call a Chevy truck. If it's a 2019 that is :D
I don't mind that too much. Just can't get beyond the 2020 trucks with the ugly front end and tailgate and all that stuff.

Might start budgeting for a transmission now. (says the GM tech) Nice looking rig
Luckily I have a 20 year/200,000mi power train warranty.

Also purchased a 10yr/150,000mi bumper to bumper. I used no never get the extended warranty, but with all the computers and such... I have It in writing, the only items not covered are oil changes, brakes and tires. It even covers ball joints up to 2.5” of lift.

The later 2019s and 2020s are starting to grow on me a little. The gmt400s are the last of the basic looking trucks that I like the looks of, but time marches on.

Going to use this method to install the Eibach kit. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll see you all in the big speed shop in the sky.

I also agree. The only thing about those is I don’t get excited about them like the older models. I just see it as a truck, which if I want something cheap and user friendly to haul sod in, it’s great. However, if I want something that I really enjoy owning/driving AND I can haul sod in it, now we’re cooking with fish grease. I guess that’s a personal problem, though. In the defense of GMT800s, at least they kept the traditional light duty truck profile. Light duty trucks in general got huge between 2002 and 2007 depending on who built it.

I have my work cut out for me tomorrow if I’m going to make my Saturday morning tire and alignment appointments.

Rust isn’t so much of a thing here. It happens in a minor fashion here and there, but when you see a significant case—it’s foreign and scary. It makes you wonder about the vehicle’s past life.

Our four letter word is emission. We have to get 1975 and older gas vehicles; or 1997 and older diesel vehicles to be able to modify our engines from stock in any significant way.

And yet, we have no safety inspections. Because failed brakes don’t kill, only CO and NOx.

Started on the airbags, springs and shocks as soon as I got home from work yesterday determined to keep my appointments today. It took me until a little after 2 am this morning, but I got it done.

Just got home from getting tires, an alignment and some shopping for a Mother’s Day bbq at my house tomorrow. I’m pleased with the ride and it sits pretty dang good now.

Tires are 275/70r18 or about 33.2” Cooper Discoverer at3 xlt:
