I want to do a 2/3in drop on my 86 and wanted to know any pointers or suggestions you guys have. I am planning on using drop spindles and shackles to do this drop.

Spindles and shackles will yeild a 2.5/2in drop. I would suggest a 2.5/4in drop using drop spindles and drop shackles and hangers.

What size tire should I get if I do the 2.5/4 in drop, right now I have 235/75/r15 all around. I would like to stick with the 15 in rally's on it.

I'd say 245/60 in the front with a 275/60 in the back. I like the staggered look though.

275/60/15 would be my choice.

I heard that the stock rally's will rub on the control arm or tie rod, is that true? if so should I get some wheel spacers for the front and how thick should they be?

Should just be the Lca from what I've seen. Resolution is to grind of a 1/4 of it and should be clear.

Your inner wheel weights may rub off...DON'T use spacers! Very dangerous. If you do anything, use wheel adapters that bolt on and change the wheel mounting pattern. The offset of the factory rallys is what limits the drop spindle clearance. Try a drop coil first to obtain the look before installing a spindle and grinding the arms. Do it right and do it safe. The look isnt worth it if you have to put your safety at risk by hacking the truck and doing it wrong

Here's a 2/3 drop with P235/75R15 tires on 8" rallys. It's cut coils in front and relocated spring hangers in the rear.

If you are like most people you will want to go lower and will want bigger tires.
