What advice do yall have for a 6.0 to a 1987 4x4 swap? Which 6.0 is the best for the swap? What kits or Accessories are needed. I want it to look factory and for the ac and all the gauges to work. Any parts numbers would be very appreciated. Thanks yall

If you are willing to search through my spreadsheet for various parts you can look at the file at dropbox

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jiesm7cdbfhb7p8/1984 K1500 with 5.3L Parts costs.xls?dl=0

It lists part numbers that I acquired for my build (whose thread is in my signature).

the LS 6.0 would fit just like a 5.3L into the mounts.

I used Dirty Dingo, though others will work.

I upgraded my fuel pump inside a 1987 side tank for 1984 K1500

hope it helps some

One anecdote does not truth make. The 6.0L is just as reliable as the 5.3L. In my search for my 6.0L, I came across several in work vans with upwards of 350K. Not one of example either, tons of them.

99-00 some have iron heads that kind of suck, and all have a long crank flange that requires them to be bolted to a 4l80e.

Just got my 87 V10 SWB back on the road with 5.3 LS power! lt1swap.com was a priceless resource along with DOUGBERTS thread you should have zero issues getting it done!!! This has been done a few times and there are many resources to help you along.
My truck feels like it lost 1000 pounds and is much more efficient.
Good luck!
