Well hey there. I thought my life was a little too simple so I added a 1987 6.2L 4x4 1500 Sierra Classic to the stable.

It came with original manuals and a full maintenance journal all the way up to 125k. It's a Georgia truck so even though I'm in Ohio, it's damn solid. Two rust holes in the rocker panel but frame is great.

I have completely rebuilt the brakes now, and replaced door lock actuators in the 4 front. The rear barn doors don't lock and I've had zero luck finding an actuator for them.

Lights are working now with new bulbs, switches and fuses.

I have some mysteries still to diagnose but it's up and running like a champ. If anyone has recs on a weird grinding noise from driver side dash, please advise. My speedo is also making that famous GM sound but the dash grinding is a separate thing. My steering is also sloppy as hell so that's my next project. Would love advice on order of repair for that.

And of course, here she is in all her (badly repainted) glory!

Glad to be here with y'all!

Howdy neighbor! I'm up the road a ways in the Washington CH area.

"Dash grinding" is a new one on me, lol. What speeds does it do it? For the steering slop, the best start is to have someone move the steering wheel back and forth, while someone takes a peak below and looks for what part(s) have play in them.

It's a new one for me too. The speedo I fully expected...

I'll try to get some video of it. It's happened randomly at misc speeds but the faster I go, the harder it is to hear
