On my 1973 i have replaced both front brake calipers and taken apart and reassembled the rear brakes and checked the parking brake cables and am about to replace the master cylinder. My brake light is still illuminated on the dash. Is there a sensor or some other techincal piece to check to turn that light off. I have checked the emergency brake in the cab and i can not find anything that makes that light iluminate and i want it off if it is not engaged. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC, not all of the early squares had parking brake warning lights. If you do, it's a brown and white wire going to a switch tucked on the upper left of the fuse panel. The brake failure valve is self-resetting, so should turn itself off when you have adequate pressure on both sides of the switch. It's a tan and white wire that plugs into a bracket on top of the left frame rail near the steering box. Each one completes a ground circuit to turn on the light, so unplugging the one that's turning the light on will extinguish it so you can figger out where the warning is coming from.

@watonka,

I tend to agree with @73c20jim that something is "made" which is aircraft lingo for "there's a switch on" somewhere. It could be the proportioning valve has been pushed. Did you have someone help with the bleeding of the brakes or did you use a "mighty vac" vacuum tool for brake bleeding?
My '74 only has the warning light in case that shuttle goes if I loose front or rear brake fluid somehow. I don't have a light for the emergency brake...I don't think. I don't know really, I've never used the emergency brake, for anything. I know it works because I service it, but a light? I want a light!
