I am posting this in the Intro Section instead of where it should go so that even the new peeps without 50 posts can see it.

It appears to be a real deal. 100 Squares to be auctioned off. You can bid online too. The live auction is in NE. Here's the info.

Super cool. No more room in my stable though.

I gotta think an event like this will drive square prices higher, at least for the trucks being auctioned off. Right?

Unfortunately when we hear the word "Auction" we think of good deals and low prices. I've never seen any car auction that matched that thought process. Square bodies are indeed rare and even in horrible condition they bring thousands of dollars when sold. Then there's shipping....blahhhh.

My thoughts exactly. It'd be cool to attend, but likely foolish to bid.

Lot 14, 42, 43 or 79 would be where I'd like to bid. I'm sure I won't have enough cash for a Casa Grande or Chalet. Anyone wanting a Gentlemen Jim, there's at least 4 in there.

This may be the only time anyone sees that many Gentleman Jims in one place. The Casa Grande is a rare sight in itself.

I'm honestly curious to see what the more common, run of the mill trucks go for. Special editions and rare variations are always fetching high prices, but the selling price of regular truck will be a decent indicator of how desirable these trucks really are in the current market. I know the days of the $1000 ex-farm truck are well behind us, but the prices I've seen lately for trucks that range from mediocre to a complete rust bucket are some real shockers.

Being curator of a square body museum would be fun, as long as you got to drive them from time to time.
