86 K20 Curb drop = temporary Clutch No Engage

86 K20 350M (L,1,2,3,R) 4x4 Just installed new clutch master & slave cylinders. I bled the system & am fairly certain I got all the air out. NOTE -I did NOT bench bleed the master. I first went about bleeding the system the old fashioned way… this obviously took a while. So long, in fact...

C10 to K20 Body Swap – Driveline Issues

TL;DR: I'm in the middle of body swapping a 1985 C10 cab & bed onto a 1984 K20 frame. The frame was purchased without a front clip, engine, or doors so specific truck options are not known. After decoding the VIN I confirmed the donor truck/frame is a Canadian truck that had a 6.2L diesel, and...

Brand new clutch fork moves up and down

So after having my throw out bearing changed to a longer one and a new clutch fork installed, the place told me that because of the ls swap my engine sits too high and that’s the reason for the 45° angle on the adjustment rod. I get home (finally after having to replace the ujoints in the...

manual trans 4x4 grinding lack of engaging on start

I have a weird issue with my manual trans 4x4 1985 chev custom delux. I start the truck and then put it in 1st then have to rev it to get it to roll and then when revs get a little higher I get a grinding sound until I shift to a gear above ...there might be a slight burning smell of clutch...

    Shudder while taking off

1978 Chevrolet K10 350/SM465/NP205. I’m going to start with saying this truck is my work truck and it has a utility bed on it mostly full of all my tools. The truck had an issue a while back where you literally could not take off in first it would shake so bad similar to a wheel hop feeling, so...

    Hydraulic clutch problem

1987 Chevrolet V20, I’m still having slave problems. I can’t keep pressure in the clutch pedal. My current problem is the fluid is getting warm and got really dark so tomorrow after work I’m going to drain it and flush it with new fluid. The pedal feels hard to an extent, but it grabs at the...

Muncie Swap Botch Job Manual Clutch

Hello fellow square body owners, I recently bought my first squarebody (1987 gmc) and it was swapped from an sm465 to a Muncie m20 but it was done extremely poorly. First of all I pulled the transmission shortly after purchasing because it wouldn't shift right (couldn't even find the right...

    Clutch Linkage

I recently replaced the clutch assembly in my 80 c20 however the clutch pedal feels out of wack. It also shakes... like a lot. I believe that it's due to the pushrod that pushes the clutch fork is not adjusted properly. Does anyone know the proper way to adjust the linkage? thank you for your help.

    Auto-to-Manual Butcher Job

So the famed Jimmy has yet another debacle. So in the past someone thought it would be cool to switch from the automatic trans to a manual, guess it's not the worst idea. Anyway when i got it the clutch pedal was never doing anything and you could grab the thing and shake it! So i really looked...

Will my 12" clutch fit on the stock flywheel?

Hi everyone, First of all, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I couldn't find a thread that really answered my question. I bought a clutch for my truck (350sbc with a SM465 behind it) and I am trying to figure out if I need a larger flywheel or not. The block is a 3970010, meaning it...

    454 swap clutch/ flywheel question

Hi, first post here. I have a 1986 k10 that I am building a 454 for, to put in place of the 350. My truck has the sm465 transmission. I am aware I need a 454 specific flywheel, which I have already gotten. (Perfection clutch 50-6531). My question is, will this flywheel work with the 3 finger...
