    I believe you are asking whether or not the pinion and ring gear need to be clocked in the way they came apart? If so, then no. Just make sure the shims go back in the same places.

    The buick carb will have a straight inlet fuel line. I thought the thermostat housing on a SBC made it unable to run a straight inlet carb.. i seem to remember trying this years ago and it didn't work.

    How many bolts hold the transmission on and where?

    Step one is to pull the crossmember to tilt the trans down. Also make sure to pull the distributor cap on a chevy. With the trans tilted back you can easily get to the bellhousing bolts from down below.

    Yes the tires are great. They are 33x12.50x16.5. They are radials so they ride very nice. I had to get one warrantied and vortrax was great to deal with.     They were the best factory head for the OG SBC. For the right money I would definitely use a set. They were covered extensively by car mags in the late 90s and early aughts, so there is a ton of info out there. The biggest draw back is the intake requirements at this point..

    Yep, most folks think as long as a carbed car starts and runs its good enough. I've seen plenty of very high dollar cars that have brand new carbs that barely function.

    The vent on the trans is probably plugged. Some mud wasps likely filled it in. It's common for something that sits. Clear that, change the fluid and go live your best life.
