    Two piece drive shaft bolts

1980 GMC k 3500, Does anyone know what size bolts hold this two-piece driveshaft flange onto the output of the transfer case? It's the output that connects the drive shaft to the front differential

    Two piece front drive shaft

The drive shaft that came with my truck is about 3 in Long then it should be, it came with the automatic transmission from the factory, my brother put a standard transmission in and now the front two piece is too long, I've been looking for a replacement but I can't find one the exact length of...

    17-in rims

I spoke with a guy at Motorsport tech and he hears of these issues all the time, he's very familiar with the rim hub diameters of a lot of vehicles and he makes lots of adapter rings for these older square bodies being converted to larger hub rims, I've decided to have some custom-made that will...

    17-in rims

On a side note they fit snug inside the rim, the outside diameter 121.3, mm but they fit a little loose on the hub, 116.7 mm inside diameter. When I measure the hub diameter of the original rims it measures out 115.7 mm, maybe this small difference won't matter?

    17-in rims

This is the exact measurements of the rings that I bought that allow these wheels to fit my 1980 GMC

    17-in rims

I bought those rings off of Amazon, they have many different sizes made out of different materials.

    17-in rims

Update, I bought a set of hubcentric rings for my 1980 GMC dually to mount 17 inch wheels from a 2010 Ram 3500, so far so good

    Dual fuel tanks and valves

The wires that come off my switch are pink pink with the white stripe light blue and green, there's a black wire hanging there but I don't know if it goes with it

    Dual fuel tanks and valves

Thank you I will use these diagrams and see what I can find, my question too is where is this selector valve that switches the fuel from one tank to the other?

    Dual fuel tanks and valves

I forgot to mention the gas gauge stays in the full no matter where I position this switch

    Dual fuel tanks and valves

My 1980 GMC 1 ton dually has dual fuel tanks on looking at the switch does anyone know which color wires or number goes to the left tank or the right tank? I'm trying to find information on how to troubleshoot the passenger side fuel tank has been replaced the driver's side has not been replaced...

    Maybe this design?

    Receiver hitches

My 1980 GMC dually currently does not have a receiver hitch, there are several good used ones on Facebook market but I don't know what years will interchange with my truck, this may be a broad question but how do I find out what years 2 in receiver hitch will fit my 1980 GMC 1-ton dually?

    Gear swap

Someone wants to give me a set of 3.73 ring and pinion out of a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, would they possibly fit in my 1980 GMC 1 ton dually with a Dana 70 rear end? What other information would be needed?
  16. F

    Rear end

    Ok, thank you!
  17. F

    Rear end

Now that I remember, you are correct in the transfer case adapter I'm pretty certain, when we put this standard transmission in we put the transfer case that was married up to in in the other truck but it came out of with it,

    Rear end

Rear end in my 1980 GMC truck is a Dana 70, per the replies here so when I go to get gears or supplies for it do I just say a GMC Dana 70? Or do I now need to look at what size in inches the gears are?
  19. F

    Rear end

But all I find is a 4L80E transmissions are they the same?
  20. F

    Rear end

I like the way those four shifters look, I'll look into what it would take to change this transmission over so I'd rather have an automatic
  21. F

    Rear end

I found a set of 17 inch rims for so that should help a little bit
  22. F

    Rear end

Wow that's some pretty good information! Originally it had a th400 my brother wanted to put a standard in it and it seems like the tachometer is a little higher than it should be doing 55 miles an hour, in addition he changed the steering column to a tilt non-automatic column, I asked about...

    Rear end

I'm just curious as to what type of rear end my 1980 GMC 4x4 dually truck has, I haven't torn into it yet but soon I will to change the gears to a different ratio, it came from the factory with either 410 or 411, my brother changed the th400 automatic to a 3-speed standard, so the gearing isn't...

    Air cleaner assembly

Does anyone know if the factory air cleaner off of a 1987 square body will fit a 1980 GMC square body with a 454? Right now my truck has an Edelbrock carb and a pretty Chrome air cleaner but I want to put a quadrajet back on there and restore the air cleaner back to factory so it can draw cooler...

    700r4

It is a dual wheel drive 4x4, you mentioned I should go with the nv4500 transmission, and then later in your post you said to keep the low rear axle ratio and add the overdrive, you are talking about keeping the 410 axle ratio and utilizing the envy 4500 for it's overdrive? This is a lot of...
