What have you done to your square lately??

Cleared the foot of snow away so I can get out of my parking spot this weekend (planning to work on it Friday& Saturday)

What have you done to your square lately??

I loaded all the scarp mower parts for a run to the dump this weekend. We have built a few racing mowers in my shop, and I needed to clean up the failure pile before it got in the way of winter snow clearing.

What have you done to your square lately??

I moved it off the lift and outside, as I want my daily drivers inside for the winter snow (coming today). It is mostly done. I still need to do the timing, install the "new" headers and exhaust, rattle-can paint the fenders and box, and...

PVC and PEX for Compressed Air

A garage sale find... it is a post-hole digger that lets you better scoop out the dirt in a deeper hole. The handle moves the shovel head 90 degrees.

    wiring issues

Check your grounds (as others have said). As I was working on my "new" truck, I was replacing ground straps as I found them. The +43-year-old straps were mostly corroded and had bad/dirty connections. My cousin was chasing electrical gremlins for a few years on his 2000s Yukon; it turned out to...

PVC and PEX for Compressed Air

I used a few Maxi-air kits, as they were on sale. It gave me some drop-down junction blocks that allow an air fitting, drain valve, and wall mounting. I've since replaced the cheap push-to-connect plastic fittings with brass push-to-connect fittings. This stuff is similar to the Synflex (or...

    2 post shop lift

I'll start this with the disclaimer that I have a 4-post. Both lifts are better than no lift. If I had room and money, I would have both. Each has its pros and cons. Here are some I have experienced. 2-posts: - Smaller footprint - Can be modified/attached for motorcycles and lawnmowers -...

What have you done to your square lately??

I finished installing my vintage auction find, an original bush guard. It required fabbing a new mount as one was poorly repaired years ago. The grill guard has signs of a tough life.

    Filling small holes without welding

I have a redneck copper spoon for welding holes in sheet metal. It's a 1" copper pipe flattened and folded, then attached to a handle. I also have the spotweld clamp version (store-bought). It keeps the weld flatter and gives a backing and heatsink to avoid blowouts. I need to take the...

    Hello

I love the "drove it home" stories. I only drove about four hours home (it is a three-hour trip in my car), and I was nervous most of the trip—the fuel gauge was well past full the whole time, the speedo was at 0 km, the muffler had a large hole, and most of my lights didn't work. There were...

    Valve covers

I have valve covers on my list for this Saturday. And I will be sorting the vacuum lines - lots of the emissions lines are still there, but none of the emissions stuff. Trying to stop oil and vacuum leaks all on the same day...

    DIY Dash Restoration

I also tried to repair mine but bought a velour cover as I wasn't happy with the end results.

    fuel venting

I have used charcoal from fish tank filters before (new not used). It comes in a fabric bag and seemed to work to remove soldering fumes sucked through a small fan.

    Dome light upgrade

I switched all the interior lights to LED, including the dash lights. They are brighter and run cooler while using less energy, and I'm happy with the results. My only issue was that the dome light in my 81 C20 is a two-terminal bulb (one positive, one negative—it doesn't ground through the...

    Fluid Changes

I'm running the same 5w30 conventional (whatever is on sale and isn't a No Name Brand) in my wife's 05 Yukon until I find all the oil leaks, at which point I'll run something fancy. I bought the truck and didn't know the service history, so like every other vehicle I purchase, I changed all...

What have you done to your square lately??

I work for a small rural Alberta county. Our crews don't often get back in the truck clean either - so being able to remove and clean or replace a seat cover is a great way to keep the truck interior clean and the operator happy.

What have you done to your square lately??

I purchase 4 to 6 trucks every year for work. We install seat covers (or have the dealership do it) right from the start - over brand-new seats. This means the OEM fabric will be in good shape when we sell it.

What have you done to your square lately??

I learnt that a TH400 that was "drained" a week ago when I pulled the speedometer pinion housing out (it had already sat for 4-6 days before this) is not actually drained to below the hole I had plugged with a glove stuffed with shop rags. I lost a few litres before getting a pan under it, but...

    Brakes

I got to change mine out a week AFTER installing the rad and fan shroud, but the new inner fenders were not installed yet. I didn't know my old body could still bend like that.
