    What gears

I would go 4.88. That is a lot more tire weight and wind resistance than the stock tires.

    700R4

I would wager that your transmission has been to a reman shop or two.

    700r4 & Edelbrock TV Bracket

Works much better at low an part throttle. The way it was rigged before was fine at full throttle but shifted to soon at anything less.

    700r4 & Edelbrock TV Bracket

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life, weather, and a wrong cable have slowed this project down. I found the real problem. My TV cable was damaged in a small fire I had last year and cannot be adjusted. I now have the right cable stabbed in the transmission and a adjustable bracket waiting to be...

This. What is the proper correction bracket?

    700r4 & Edelbrock TV Bracket

Yes I have searched but cannot find my actual situation. My 1983 GMC c1500 has the original 305 and 700r4, but a prior owner installed an Edelbrock 600 on an adapter and it wants to shift earlier than I would like. Searching the internet I see some cheaper ($15-50) corrector kits that only...

    LE9 305 w ESC Performance upgrades '86 k5 Blazer

CAMSHAFT! and heads are the big restrictions on an LE9. As far as you blue smoke at startup. If you have good oil pressure and compression it is probably jus valve seals. That is an easy repair.

    What is this gauge?

Dang. I really wanted it to be air speed.

    Changing gear ratios: opinions/suggestions wanted!!

I would put some 35" tires on with the 4.56 that you have.

    Front bumper not mounted right

Changed my signature from 83' to "83" :)

    Front bumper not mounted right

Oh, great! So is there any way I could get 83' brackets and bumper to work?

    Front bumper not mounted right

My front bumper was dangling by three bolts when I bought the truck and when I tried to fix it the holes did not line upfrom left to right. My title says 1983 GMC. That little bracket on the driver side looks 73-80. I need you fine people to tell my what year my frame and bumper look like.

    Transmission Upgrade?

You could put a Gearvendors overdrive on the 400 you have.

    Throwing Parts at the Wall

I would make sure your injectors are good and clean and you have good fuel before changing any parts. Those throttle body injected trucks were bad about dirty injectors and that one only has 3700 miles a year on it.

Want to bag 79. But also want to keep it around stock.

Clearly you need more than one square body. ;)

how fast is your power window?

I had my driver window actuator out, thinking it was bad, the other day. It runs much faster after cleaning and lubing. I need to do the passenger side now.

What have you done to your square lately??

    Next prodject!

    6 lug rims?

Yeah I don't know that any ever sold like that.

    6 lug rims?

There is one in the 1983 GMC brochure.

    Craziest antitheft idea yet.

An electric fuel pump with a hidden switch works well.

    New Okie Here

Gen Xer that bought a square body last fall. (I am guessing I fit in here) It has some history in my wife's family and reminds me of a few trucks my Dad had growing up farming in Oklahoma. https://photos.app.goo.gl/eA52VcVKJmsNxEVCA
