    Painting rally wheel rim

Agree, automotive paint has a long shelf life if stored properly. Also, paint goes a long ways with HVLP gun. I think I will used not more than a 5-6 quarts for my entire truck including my interior and I have sprayed 3-4 heavy coats. I have been using the single mixed disposable cups which...

What have you done to your square lately??

Weld and grind metal patches this morning. Time to take a break for some other fun stuff. Also welded the holes for the trim piece since I will use it on the other tailgate I bought last fall.

What have you done to your square lately??

Fittted the new metal to the areas I cut out yesterday. Pulled the front grill and trim, and soaked front bumper bolts with penetrating oil. PO used straight screws with nylon lock nuts to secure grill, WTH. Cussing the whole time while removing the lower center bolt. Gonna weld the metal...

What have you done to your square lately??

Cut out a small area of rust on the driver fender, also cut out a small area of rust on the tailgate. Much to my surprise, the tailgate had a patch of bondo on the middle bottom area of the tailgate. I got to looking at it a little closer; tailgate not very straight along the bottom so PO...

Older badge on 86 K10? Or metal 80’s era badges?

I’m not a fan of the large plastic gawdy boring badge (no color) from the 80s either. Im planning to weld and fill the holes in the fender which will also save a few $$. However, I would consider a badge if I could find something appealing. In my opinion, 75-80 custom deluxe badge with some...

What have you done to your square lately??

My painting skills are subpar, at least I am consistent with the orange peel, amazingly no bugs, a lil dirt, a couple fish eyes and no runs. Something positive, the body work actually looks pretty good. Glad to have this mostly checked off, the white on the bottom should be fairly easy since I...

DA New Pantina, at least temporarily

I went with Hugger orange single stage paint rather than safety orange. I’m two toning it using the top and bottom two tone, easier to paint rather than the middle stripe two tone. Also gonna paint the hood white with a couple sport stripes.

What have you done to your square lately??

I used 3M panel bonding adhesive around the riveted perimeter and used a tube of $12 liquid nails fuse it, almost the entire tube on the inside mating surface and both interior and exterior seams. Hopefully, that’s enough. The drivers side panel was a very tight fit. I considered welding it but...

What have you done to your square lately??

Long board sanded the box in between da sanding the fender to allow the compressor to cool. Paint on fender won’t scrape off like the box paint did so it’s gonna take more time. I also have some rust to repair so I likely will remove the front clip at some point for body work and paint.

What have you done to your square lately??

Squirted epoxy primer on the box, still needs a ton of sanding and prep work with the high build and spot putty, trying to get orange on before it gets too hot outside.

I’m planning to drill the holes for the side molding and then use the 3m thick two way adhesive for the long trim piece for cab rear.
