    New TBI injectors causing surging

I got a different brands injecotrs today, CS Injectors instead of ac delco. I installed them and let the truck warm up to operating temp and it did not once surge, it acted like it should. This leads me to believe that the ac delco injectors were just bad in some way, and it’s crazy that I got...

    New TBI injectors causing surging

The new Injectors are what ACdelcos catalog say fits my vehicle, the part number for the original ones is 5235206. Tonight I swapped the originals back in and it idled as it should, so at this point I am confused to be honest. I’m going to be putting this on hold until Monday because I ordered...

    New TBI injectors causing surging

I’ll most likely go back to the original ones if I can’t find a reason why the new ones do not work. It’s just a little issue that’s been burning in my mind for a couple months now and I figured with it being cold were I live it would be a good time to find out the cause since my work schedule...

    New TBI injectors causing surging

O2 sensor is only a couple months old and is a ac delco heated sensor, which is what I switched to when I tried to solve this problem this summer but ended up giving up and going back to the original injectors which work as they should

    New TBI injectors causing surging

O2 sensor was new this summer, it is a ac delco 3 wire heated sensor, the tps, map, Egr are also all new this summer and they are also ac delco. I just think it’s strange that the old injectors work fine and the new ones have this idle surge issue when warm

    New TBI injectors causing surging

So today after work I tried all the suggestions, starting with this one, and then resetting the iacv and relearning idle. While doing that I started the truck without the iac plugged after jumping the Aldl connector since I was curious about the base idle and how it was set. The truck would not...

    New TBI injectors causing surging

A couple weeks ago I had an issue with my ecm where the chip that controlled the injectors shorted and melted. A new ECM solved that problem, although I was still wary of the injectors so I made a plan to replace them also. I bought new Ac delco 217-2286 injectors and installed them. My 1987 gmc...

    Burned/melted ecm

It’s a 24824b integrated circuit. It would be cool to replace it myself and have a back up if anything else goes wrong. I have a soldering iron but haven’t used it that much, just simple little connections, like if I break a spade connector on a board at work I can get that back in there and not...

    Burned/melted ecm

The four center pins on the integrated circuit have continuity with each other and to ground, I am not sure if they are supposed since I have limited knowledge on how that part works but it seems if it melted and then they are most likely shorted together. Researching online it seems these...

    Burned/melted ecm

On thanksgiving I was warming up my 1987 gmc v2500, after idling for a couple minutes I noticed it was stumbling and acting like it was running out of gas to the point of talking but then would come back to a normal fast idle while warming up, I was quite certain the tapping from the injectors...

    Leaking head gasket?

It’s a standard. Would that technique still work with that? I am assuming not since you asked if it was automatic but if there is an similar test with a standard I’d love to hear it

    Leaking head gasket?

thank you for the welcome. At this point I am hoping it’s the gasket instead of the head or cylinder wall cracked. I drive it pretty carefully and rarely go above 65-70 just to save on gas and it’s no use competing with the modern cars on the road. I figured re torquing the bolts was a long shot...

    Leaking head gasket?

Hi, this is my first post but I have been using this forum for information for a while now. I have a 1987 gmc v2500 5.7l. My issue is that my coolant turned from the normal slightly dirty/rusty to black with a touch of green from the Prestone within a couple of days. I noticed I had lost oil...
