    Child Seat Anchors

Interesting what a Google search brings up. Looks like this replacement part for a Peugeot 307 might be the start of a retrofit project.

    Child Seat Anchors

Yes, I know. But the combination of the specific car seat they have, together with the factory belts, just will not work together. Plus, getting the seat (and child, still rearward facing) in and out when secured with the belt is a real pain. I use the belt to secure the child seat in the back...

    Child Seat Anchors

Hello everyone. I haven't posted in a long time. A few years ago I restored a 77 K10 for my daughter's wedding present (see detailed thread). My daughter and son in law have a little one now, but cannot take her along for rides because her car seat will not belt into the bench seat. Has anyone...

    Fender and Hood panel fitment

I would start with loosening the bolts holding the hinge to the hood, on both side (with some extra hands). There is adjustment in the holes that will allow you to 'twist' the hood some to try and align it better with the fenders.

    1 Pc Window

I didn't make the conversion. Rebuilt the factory window. Still doesn't fit the best, and vent window still doesn't seal very well.

Low Hump to High Hump Conversion

I made the exact same swap when restoring the 77 K10 (build thread on this site) using a 77 C10 cab that was more rust free. You will need to weld in the nuts so the larger tunnel will bolt into place. Otherwise pretty simple job. Leaving the legalities aside, there are places on the web where...

    New Air Compressor

I have been eyeing this one for a while now. Just waiting on my CH 5hp 2-stage 80gal unit to die. I've had the CH for ~25yrs. Painted too many cars to count and run shop tools all those years. Still running strong with no issues. But when it does this units is going in the shop. I really like...

    1 Pc Window

I am considering a 1 piece window conversion for my daughter's 77 K10 (separate thread on restoration). Even though I have rebuilt the vent windows and have all new hardware & seals, the windows just don't seal well. Looking online I see numerous companies now offering kits. These guys claim...

Paint manufacturer recommendations for the DIY

If you are ok with selecting from a very limited number of pre-mixed colors (think - red, black, yellow, white, orange), then you can't go wrong with Southern Polyurethanes. I have used their black. It is by far the deepest, most black I have ever seen or laid down. I always use their epoxy...

    Painlesswiring, American Autowire, or ??????

I rewired the entire 77 K10 (complete resto) with AA. No issues.

Front driveline too short after lift kit.

I had the same issue after installing the 4inch lift. I used this to solve the problem inexpensively - https://superlift.com/product-detail/4310

Is anybody building OEM style wiring harnesses?

I used AAW. No issues, everything went very smoothly. https://www.americanautowire.com/shop/complete-wiring-kit-1973-1981-chevy-truck

    Looking at car lifts

I have a Bendpak 10,000lbs 2 post lift in my shop. Love it. You do need to be very careful about what you buy. There are a number of good brands. But there twice as many cheapo ones. Watch the videos Bendpak has on their web site comparing the structural integrity of their lift v the cheap ones...

Stepside Fender to Bed Seam Sealant

When I did the restoration on my daughter's 77 K10 I used window weld ribbon. It is small in diameter that it did not show, but did seal the joint. https://www.amazon.com/08612-Window-Weld-Round-Ribbon-Sealer/dp/B000CQ4AOO

Looking for a grease gun? I got a good one for ya!

After getting tired of fighting with my grease gun always falling off the zerk and squirting grease everywhere, I made this purchase - https://www.amazon.com/LockNLube-fittings-best-selling-Long-lasting-rebuildable/dp/B00H7LPKKU This absolutely will not come off the zerk no matter how much...

    Anyone run this set up?

Yes, I installed the ProFlo4 on the SBC327. I got a deal last winter, with the purchase of the ProFlo4 I got the fuel sump system for free. Runs like a new modern engine regardless of ambient temp. Fires and runs smooth 100% of the time. Highly recommended. Check my build thread.

    Re-popped Bumpers

I purchased from NPD. About half the thickness/weight of the original. Edges are quite sharp and rough in a few places. Otherwise they worked fine in terms of fit.

    national parts depot

I used them for 100% of the sheet metal parts for my restoration. Parts are basically the same as all the others. I did a side-by-side comparison of cost incl shipping and found they were competitive (check my build thread - the comparison is there). For me it was an even easier decision because...

    Bleeding brakes

Had exactly this same issue twice now on the 77 K10. For me, and very possibly for you, the issue is the prop valve. The prop piston in the valve is more than likely moved over (fail safe mode) to block fluid to the rears. The first time this happened I was able to open the front bleeders, stomp...

    New Steering Gear Leaking

I installed the new (rebuilt) steering gear shown below in the 77 K10. Truck now has 33 miles on it. And the steering gear is already leaking out of the front cover (second photo - this isn't the leaking one, just a reference pic I found). Is this a common occurrence? I guess I may have to...

    Pinion Nut Tightening Question

Blue Ox has it correct. But standard procedure calls for replacing the crush sleeve, it is not reusable. Yes, people do it all the time. Sometimes it works, for a while. And yes, crushing the sleeve takes an enormous amount of torque. And it only takes a fraction of a rotation too far to get too...

    Vent Window Seals + More

Any interest in the bed bar? At this point I am ready to let it go for $50. Just want it out of my shop. Hate to take it to the dump.

    New OE Gauge Rad Supports

Negative. EDP is a good primer layer coating. What is not good is too many parts coming from Asia claim to be EDP, but are in fact just a cheap black coating, not sure I would even call it primer. It is always ALWAYS best to test these parts to insure it really is EDP. Otherwise, if you...

    New OE Gauge Rad Supports

Got an email from AMD today indicating they have sourced new tooling to produce OE gauge radiator supports. Image below is only one of a number they now have for these trucks. Wish they had this about 2 months ago. I can say the rad support I got from NPD is about half the thickness and few of...
