    Best tires

I run the BFG KO2 on my 4WD trucks and Jeeps. They wear great and have good all-around traction. I got 90,000 miles out of a set on my old '97 Grand Cherokee.

    350 or LS

If your truck is in good shape, LS swap is cool now, but 20 years from now it will be a classic truck with the wrong engine.

From 350 trans to 400 transmission

Not sure of the interchange with another vehicle, but if you need one made, I recommend Fort Wayne Clutch & Driveline. They've built several for me over the years and always have done a good job. They ship anywhere in the country.

    New Member in Eastern Montana

Welcome! I was at the Talladega race last Sunday. They interviewed a fan from Montana. I remarked to my son that when I was in the Marine Corps, I met Marines from almost every state except Montana. So I didn't think anyone lived there. I guess I missed you. Semper Fi

    Engine Paint Color Question

Yep, and Pontiacs engines wore Blue. Chevy Small Block = Turbo Fire --> Orange Cvevy Big Block = Turbo Jet --> Orange Buick = Wildcat --> Red Olds = Rocket --> Gold Pontiac = Tempest --> Blue That's the way it was in the late 60's & early 70's

    Red is for Buicks.

    Engine Paint Color Question

My GM crate motor was black when it arrived at my house. Old Chevy small blocks need to be orange or they're not happy. This is what it looked like after I installed it and a recent picture.

Running Hot at Highway Speeds with A/C On

Ain't much left that's stock in old girl. She usually runs OK. The challenge of these things is modifying them to learn from your mistakes.

    np203 shifter

I ended up having JB Custom Fabrication build a one-off Twin Stick Cable Shifter for my Blazer. I then had to grind on the Bracket that attaches to the Transfer Case and modify the floor pan a bit to make clearance. I also had to raise the shifter up to make clearance to the Transmission. All...

    1974 Z28 Camaro

There were no Z28s built in '76. After the 1974 model year, the Z28 was discontinued. It wasn't re-introduced until mid-year 1977.

    1974 Z28 Camaro

One of my friends had a '74 Camaro Z28 when we were in high school. What I remember most was a local road with a dip in it. When he hit the dip too fast it would knock the right muffler off. He'd go back, get the muffler, re-install it with a mallet and it would be good to go (until we went...

    I got a lift

Wow. Enjoy that thing! That would be wonderful, until I crushed a car roof into my garage ceiling joists. Maybe some-year I'll have a big enough building for one.

'73 Chevelle SS Wagon (local find)

I was considering buying a '73 SS back in 1981. It was way less expensive that what they're asking for that one. But even then, being a Northern Indiana car, it had almost as much rust.

    Badgeless, but better now.

Wow. that looks great. I may have to steal your idea to dress-up the faded bow-tie on Blaze.

    Transfer Case Issue?

The Transfer Case shifter could be worn-out. When I bought my Blazer it wouldn't shift into the Lock position so 4-wheel drive didn't work. I ended-up changing to an aftermarket twin-stick shifter.

    Pure SEX!

Here's the '72 that my friend's dad traded a GMC pick-up & $1000 for in '76. It's currently getting painted back to original Targa Blue.

My wife is small and is pregnant

Yep, that was going to be my suggestion. I keep a 3-step Ladder in the back of Blaze. It's the perfect height to allow my wife to climb in. Also comes in handy when working under the hood. I didn't want to add the hoop step because it eats-up ground clearance.

    Carb question

There should be a blade next to the ignition (IGN) fuse in you fusee block. Just run the wire to there.

    Craziest antitheft idea yet.

I don't think the average person would know how to drive this... Since it has an un-modified NP203 Transfer Case and Lock-out Hubs, when I park it in an area that is iffy I unlock one of the front hubs. It won't drive anywhere until they figure that one out.

Are rubber valve cover gaskets JUNK? Pic inside

Using standard Cork Fel-Pro Gaskets with a thin layer of Vaseline on both sides, force spreaders and not over-torquing I've never had them leak. And they won't stick to either the Valve Cover or the Head. The Vaseline works well on paper Gaskets too. No scraping when you need to replace them.

Freak Injury Upon Another Freak Injury To Hand Requiring Emergency Surgery (Tool Safety)

Wow. Glad your doing better. Most of the times that I injure myself it's due to being lazy and performing tasks not according to safety standards or to being in a hurry to complete them.

    Rear wheel drive with NP-203?

My old NP203 had the conversion, my new one does not. I like it better with the full-time. It just feels right.

    It’s a disease

The bumper sticker on the back of my Blazer reads, "US Marine; We don't suffer from insanity, we enjoy every moment of it" Welcome aboard!

    Power Tour

Have fun. Not going on that one, but I did the whole 2014 Power Tour from Charolette, NC to the Wisconsin Dells in my '74 K5 without the roof. It was awesome.
