    Anybody replaced Pitman shaft seal before?

    My concern has always been the rust ridge that builds up in the bore. It seems to be difficult to remove so the seal can push out and be reinstalled. There are a ton of vids about this out there tho.

    I seem to remember otherwise. I thought it was held in my a snap ring behint the arm and could be pushed out with pressure by turning the wheels with the engine running. Never had to do one personally tho. Perhaps more research is in order.

    And setting up gears takes patience and skill or more $$ to have a good shop do it. If you mess it up it's even more $$$.

    I just looked at the MSDS for Gumout jet spray carb cleaner. That has MEK and Naptha in it. If you try that you will have a use for the leftovers. MEK is strong stuff too.

    Not all is equal tho. Like rubbing alcohol the content is measured by percentage so read the label and look for a higher percentage.

    Next step is xylene but make sure you wear gloves and be in a well ventilated area. Thats powerfull stuff so mind the drips!

    Or become thoroughly annoyed. You can use a 12v lamp instead of a horn if you prefer a quieter method. The only downfall is you need to see it. long wires allow it to be located in a visible area. Another option would be a buzzer like the one for the door or key-in.

    I think in the end headers, an X-pipe, free flowing mufflers and properly sized pipes do a pretty good job of scavenging. I believe the venturi works because the outlet is near the end of the pipe and open to atmosphere but still very close to the engine since it is installed in the header...
