    Compression test? I chased a problem like that for a long time until a friend noticed one side of the exhaust had more condensation. A compression test indicated a weak cylinder due to a valve adjustment that was too tight.

    Look at the printed circuit on the back of the cluster. There may be damage to the tracing for the ground on that.

    LOL! On to the poop thread..... I was so mad I pooped! Or is it the quote thread? Anyway glad it is fixed. Not much sucks more that trying to make somthing better and ending up worse off. Except for the learning opportunity.

    I wonder what would happen if you started disconnecting and plugging vacuum ports as a process of elimination to try to find the issue. What if for some reason it will start with no vacuum it will run but as it runs the increase in vacuum pulls the egr or somthing open and it stalls.

    It may go without saying but have you checked the fuel filter. The one in the fuel inlet fitting of the carb is rather small and easily plugged.

    Make sure the lines are connected to the correct ports of the master cylinder. The larger resivoir is the front.

    For what it's worth I ran clear filters on three different trucks Over the span of 20 years. Each one would regularly be mostly full of air or evaporated fuel when viewed at idle. I am also of the opinion it may be coil related rather than fuel related.

    Would you add the filler and vent connections to the tank before installing it? I figure you would want to do that work right away on a new tank.

    Exactly what I would do. Going to need to hang the door and get the gap set on the back and top. Regarding the brace, mark its location and take some measurements in case things move and cut it out. you need about 3/8" of a gap between the outer rocker and the door. If you can find some magnets...
