So your saying you have confirmed a no spark condition right after it dies? If so, how did you confim no spark? What do you do to get it restarted?

    Battery Rejuvenator

Yes, I have mine mounted in my boat as an onboard charger. I can also run leads from it out to charge other batteries. Seems to produce a good deep long lasting charge.

    Wrangler Radials?

I ran some of the wranglers and found them to work well. All around a good budget tire that works well in the snow too. I wish they would also come in a light truck load range (C) like they used to.

Rpm's go up and down off idle

You will also want to clean up all your grounds on the engine. One by the water neck and one on the back if the passenger cylinder head.

ENGINE SWAP -or- SELL! the final say for the most efficient square body motor!

I also ran a saturn as a commuter car. I figured it saved me about $100 a month when gas was around $4 gal. Friday was my "Take your square to work" day. Still miss my lil car.

    Steering hydro assist

I imagine it would just be a matter of fabbing up some brackets and modifying the drag link. My 76 F250 had hydraulic ram assis for power steering. You may be able to borrow some design ideas from that setup.

    Which carb would you recommend

Ah, yes, a closer look and I see the spread bore. Dumbass! In that case I vote Q-jet.

    Which carb would you recommend

Can you share more details about what cam and what ignition you plan to run? Looks like you have a single plane square bore intake? With that info it will be easier to decide on a carb. Normally I would say a Q-jet but an Edelbrock would work well if took the time to tune it.

    Brake line overview

You are on the right track. If you can find a good spot there is nothing wrong with a splice but that depends on the condition of the rest of the line. I like to buy brake line in a coil and make my lines as one continuous run. Yes a standard brake bleed will work fine. I can usually get them to...

    Big Block Towing Motor

My bad on the location. For some reason I thought MN..... Anyway, I still think the Q-jet would be a good carb.

    Big Block Towing Motor

A well tuned Q-jet properly jetted for your engine with a good working automatic choke will work really well for you up here in the north country. An Eddy carb can too but you will have to tune that one too.

    Over heating???

Just a note. If you use Teflon tape on the sender it won't read correctly. I mentioned it because there has been work done and the difference between this engine and the original 305 is so big. Have you noticed the gauge reading differently or warmer than usual when the engine is cold? Or you...
