    Cab and bed mounts.

You can also weld somthing to the head of the bed bolt. I have drilled a 3/8" hole through flat bar and plug welded it right on top of the bolt.

Homemade threaded insert/rib nut installation tool

These are called riv-nuts and meant to be used as an insert through thin materials where you may not be able to or want to use a nut on the back side. Perfect for what you need. They even make them with closed ends for better weather resistance.

Homemade threaded insert/rib nut installation tool

Nice. My only suggestion would be to use a hardened socket head cap screw as the puller screw because they last longer.

    LS Conversion From 400

I gotta agree with 1987 GMC Jimmy on this one. That is a sweet old truck and that 400 will most likely outlive any of us. The thermostat and and a good carb rebuild will go a long ways. Paying some attention to the distributer advance curve, vacuum advance to manifold and initial timing could...

New Guy with "New Guy" questions....

I would think you will want to figure out what you have for specs like What heads, what size combustion chamber, what the bore and stroke actually are and what type of piston is in it. List that all off or ask for help here in figuring it out. With that there will be suggestions as to what cam...

    Header size

Are you saying you want to use headers but run a single exhaust? If thats the case you may want to stick with the manifolds and Y pipe, ditch the catalytic if you don't have inspection to pass and install a good turbo muffler and tail pipe and call it good. 2.5" pipe will do fine for you.

    Blinkers dont work

Check the fuse. Do the reverse lights work? They appear to be on the same circuit. Then try a new flasher relay. After that the power is fed to the plug on the column for the turn signal switch by purple wire. Do yourself a favor od go get a haynes manual at the parts store. It's not the best...
