I've found a 5.3 with comp and wiring harness for $500. Just spitballing here but thought maybe I could get this into a short block at least and resale for a little profit if I couldn't use it for what I want- Jarhead79

I just have the block and main caps and bolts, a buddy had it for a build and then decided he didn't want to do an Ls for his 60s caddy, block looks in excellent shape and cylinder walls are still really nice, I gave him a hundy to help him out with some fast cash, I don't want to build a huge...- Jarhead79

Any difference in stepside beds through the years?
If memory serves and it may not be correct but I believe some of the newer year stepside beds did away with the wood and had a metal bed floor, not 100% on that but I had seen one with a metal bed floor, just not sure it was modified to be metal or like that from factory- Jarhead79

Ls1 5.7 block score! Now I know I've been all over the map with threads on motors and ideas, until tonight I couldn't make up my mind for sure, well almost sure! Lt1 383 build possibly!
I came across a rebuildable lt1 motor, or at least I'm told it is an lt1, will make sure when I get the numbers off of it, buuuut what I'm wanting to know is this, feasible or not, or waste of time and money? Call Oreillys and ask them what oil filter to use, I'm betting it'll be the same as the 305 and 350 my my 79 and my 92 both use the same filter.- Jarhead79

Taking out heater core
Is removing the heater core difficult, found out that I have a leak under my dash and pretty sure it's the heater core or the eVap core. Doesn't smell like antifreeze but I've noticed my level of coolant is down to just below the heater core inlet/outlet hoses that feed into the radiator. -

Was under my truck a while back and notice the frame crossmember under the rear of the bed is bent, I'm guessing someone tried pulling something with a chain or cable etc and bent the snot out of it, are there any after market pieces I can get for this or does anyone make them or can make one...- Jarhead79

Ls swap over $6000?
I'm not the most efficient mechanic but I'm capable of doing it I'm sure, but I was in the $3000 ball park range if I wanted to just do a stock swap, the guy with the motor is including the harness and ecm, and I know a guy to clear the vats system, and can get a tune for less than $200.
