    TH350, no overdrive...but...

The highest forward gear selection is always right next to neutral. I think this is true on all automatics.

    Gargage heating ideas

I am wanting to build a rocket stove for my shop, and I also want to build my own solar heat collector on the south wall.. builditsolar.com has DIY solar heat panels you can build pretty low buck. Basically a box painted black inside with a glass front on the south side of your building with...

    Rust Attack Part II

I keep saying I need to some day get a K5 Blazer from somewhere in the southwest, and then rhinoline the whole thing, because when you bring them up here, they last 3 years tops..

when did black wheels become so popular

I've always liked black, flat black, road warrior looking trucks and cars. That's just me. I want a rat rod too. I find once you get shiny paint and chrome, it just adds too much to the headache of cleaning the thing, and for me, cleaning is not something I do much.. As for rhino lining the...

NP203, NP205, NP208 Differentiating Power to front and rear axles.

I like the concept of the 203, but like was said earlier, if one could add a posi, or locking set up to it, it would be AWESOME.. I used to just put locking hubs on my old truck, and drive it in Hi lock all the time, cornered without all that feeling with the axles deciding which one was...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

Well, I am pretty excited to report that it is working now! I finally got some plates on the thing so I could actually drive it without worrying about mr. lawman assaulting me with a SWAT team or something.. So I drove it to my dad's place (about 10 miles away) and it wasn't shifting still...

    4L60E Transmission Rebuild kits

Bulk part and PATC were who I've dealt with. I guess there's some pretty good sounding deals on ebay, but almost too good to be true. Bulk part is who to go to, for most every individual part.

    Emmisions Discussion

I dunno, the fuel cell setup you describe sounds a bit too "over-unity" for my understanding of how it works. Biggest problem I've seen is speed, they aren't fast enough to provide enough fuel on the fly to use effectively for transportation. I've often thought of using a permanent magnet...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

Well, it'd have been another couple 3-4 hours out of your way to come help me out, thanks for thinking that way though! Yeah, this is why I was thinking the plug may be leaking, I have a book that shows the hydraulic operation of the valve body in each gear, color coded, etc, and I looked at...

Not to mention, the fact that coal is radioactive, something a lot of people don't know about.. No amount of scrubbing will take the radiation out of it.. My dad worked in a particle accelerator, where they were required to wear badges that checked how much radiation they were exposed to. They...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

Well, I did let it dle for a while the first day, I discovered a leak and had to tighten it up while it was running, to be sure it was not gonna leak, I left it run, it was warmed up enough to lower the idle speed, but yeah, around here, if you don't put cardboard in front of your radiator, it...

From what I can tell, it isn't the power companies that is the problem. There's enough profit to be made with nuclear, they'd be willing to drop the coal fired plants in a heart beat if they'd only be allowed to build nuke ones, without having an unending line of lawyers suing them, people...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

Well, If you say the leaking plug won't cause it, I believe you. I just looked up no OD, and found this valve, and valve plugs being one of the issues.. Again doesn't seem as likely as the vaslien gunking up the works. I haven't driven any more than 1/4 mile in the thing, so I doubt it has...

If one were to use 3 stage breeder reactors, (prototypes have been made, but no one is allowed to build them in the US, and elsewhere, they frown on it, because of weaponization possibility) where you start with Uranium, then it becomes Plutonium, which can be run again, and then becomes, I...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

I will check that out, and see. I was worried about the check balls moving. I guess I got carried away. The valves, I just lightly smeared a bit on them, but if it isn't dissolving, it may gum up the works. Shouldn't it eventually dissolve though? It was just a .pdf, I found it on my...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

Looks like I can make my own cable, and run some free software called Tuner pro, etc, and that should give me the info, that will take a bit of doing for me.. I still can't get out of my head that I think it's something in the valve body, the whole "doesn't need much vaseline" thing has me...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

That's what I was thinking, the fact that everything else seems to work seemed to me that it didn't make sense that there was a solenoid or sensor error. Ok, this is something to look at, do you remember which valve it is? I was careful to get this part correct, verified that "C" went to...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

Vehicle is a 1993 Suburban. Sorry it's not a square, you guys seem to know about these as well though, so I have been picking your brains about it. I need to figure out how to read this PCM, I don't think it is OBD2.. The solenoids seem to be working, since 1, 2, and 3rd are all...

Finally got the 4l60e in the Suburban..

And, it works!!! Except... NO OD! Doesn't even act like it wants to shift into OD, just goes along in 3rd gear, like it was meant to. . I checked out the servo, everything looks good, it's one of those billet super hold OD servos. As a matter of fact, I believe I air tested the...

    1-2 accumulator bore gouged..

Well, I COULD catch it with my fingernail.. However, I think if I had used some sand paper, and more scotchbrite, I could have smoothed it out, I don't know how sensitive these are to leakage, as there's two orings in a pinless accumulator. Or how far out of round they can be before the orings...

    1-2 accumulator bore gouged..

Well, I went ahead and ordered one, $8.50 + $10 shipping.. Not bad, though I hate paying more for shipping than the part. I took some scotch brite pad to it, and this didn't take it out all the way, so I went ahead and ordered a replacement.

    1-2 accumulator bore gouged..

Here's a pic of the 1-2 accumulator bore from that 4l60e I am finally close to putting together.. How critical is the bore surface on these? Can I sand it smooth or anything? I think the pin was so loose the original piston was fluttering. I am going with pinless accumulators now, and...
