    TH350 goes forward in reverse..

Hey y'all, I rebuilt my dad's TH350 on his square, and it was working great for 2 years. Then, this summer, he went to back it up, and it wouldn't go anywhere, but eventually it moved forward, but acted like there was binding going on. All gears but park move it forward. Does this sound...

Snapped Axles and ujoints on front of my plow truck..

I should have been more clear. ON the one I snapped the ujoints on, that is my plow truck that is in running order. The question I had about the gear ratios is on a different truck, a 3/4 ton. Yes, that one is full floater, Dana60, I think in the rear, and 44 up front. 4.10 ration is in it now...

Snapped Axles and ujoints on front of my plow truck..

Like the title says, I heard a bunch of clicking, and clattering and banging, and lost my front wheel drive, so, I managed to get it out of where I was stuck in the snow, and got a look at the damage, and found both yokes on the axle where it goes through the steering knuckle are busted, I...

Does '79 windshield fit '84 truck?

Hey guys, quick question, I finally decided to scrap the rusted out body of my '79, and turned what was left into a truck box trailer. While I was at it, I removed the windshield, and rear window from the cab. It so happens, that my '84 has a cracked windshield, and the back window is blacked...

Alex Spring kit vortec .550 lift

Building a vortec is further down on my list of things I need to do than I'd like, but if I was building one, I'd for sure hit these up. Good luck with your sale.

    Mud Tires

Bias ply tires handle just fine, nothing unsafe about them. They just wear out abit faster on highway usage. I've used bias, and radial, and about the only difference I can feel is that bias tires seem abit, I dunno, stiffer, when you turn, there's abit less of that under roll you feel with...

    Stupid dodge tranny...

I was using this as a guide, but I guess when it says "when assembled" it actually means FULLY assembled with OD unit on.. http://www.atraonline.com/gears/1997/1997-11/gnov97p10.htm Just crazy to me. There's a LOT of end play when the OD unit is not on this one. I mean like A LOT!! This is...

    Stupid dodge tranny...

Not to mention this tranny is EXACTLY like bolting on an OD unit to a 727/904.. In my mind, you'd set it up like you would a 727, before you put it all together, with the valve body, and servos, etc, so you can pressure test everything before you add the valve body, servo's. I mean, I would...

    Stupid dodge tranny...

Seriously, I'd like to know which ASTG manual you are using, I looked over mine again, and it has nothing in there that says what yours does! I was actually disappointed in my manual, as it looked exactly like the 727/904 one I had, with a bit about the OD section added on at the end...

    Stupid dodge tranny...

Well, crap! Why doesn't my ASTG manual say that??? What version manual you got? Gotta source for download? Must've been some sort of update on a later version.. Mine, it says nothing about that, just says to check by moving inputshaft up and down.. BLARG.. Thanks for the help! I...

    Stupid dodge tranny...

Rebuilding a tranny for a friend's dodge. 46rh (basically a 727 with OD) No reverse, tore up his rear drum, and band. Replaced rear drum, band, and OD piston. assembly. Everything else looked good, and he wanted low buck, so I put it back together, and I haven't put the OD unit on yet, I...

    Aftermarket headlights

Anyone run the new LED headlight setups they have now? I've seen just the bulbs that are supposed to be able to replace the halogen type, or H4, type.. I like the idea of much more light, with way less current draw.

    Temptation

Cool info, thanks! Amazing you get 17mpg with that and a TH400, no OD.. Reason I was wanting specifics, is I'd like to turbo a truck, it's a 4 spd, right now it has 4.10's but I could drop that to 3.73, or even higher.. My engine is an old 400 SBC, I was considering getting the vortech heads...

    Temptation

Got any specific specs for your set up? Cam? Turbo type/size? intercooled? Custom chipped fuel mapping, or flashed stock computer? Come on guys, posts like this, are like "yeah, I dropped a 454 with dual dominators in it" without real regard to details, makes it way oversimplified. Is this...

    Building my own gantry...

Hey folks. Odd question for you all. Would a doubled, or tripled set of sandwiched 2x6's be enough to lift a small block engine out of one of these trucks, if I spanned the width of one of these trucks with a wooden gantry I want to build? My ground where I have my trucks is too mushy to...

    Alternative gearing available for SM65?

Bringing this one back. I just got a new to me truck, with an SM465. Guy told me there's companies that make LOWER gearsets for these, for the truck pull guys. I can't be the only person who wants a useable 1st gear for this tranny. WHat are the limitations to the design, for why one...

    Suburban Convertible

Great work, but all I can say about it is, you obviously don't have REAL winters where you come from.. LOL.. We would only be able to use that truck for about 3 months, half of that would be rainy and wet...

Need advice on mechanical fuel pump

See, I gotta figure out if the mechanical pumps will allow an electric to pump through, and whether the electric could allow fuel to pass through from the mechanical, so i could put a switch on to use til it's primed..

Need advice on mechanical fuel pump

For me, it depends on your weather, and how long it sits between use. Example, I am considering switching to electric fuel pump on my plow truck, because in the -10 weather, after it's sat for a month, cranking the engine to pump the fuel up to the carb sometimes is enough to drain the...

    Softer Ride

4 inch EZ ride seems to be the sweet spot for these trucks. Up to 6" is pretty good, once you go to 8 or more, they get stiff again.

350 turns over slow after getting hot

Starter is going bad. Get a brushless mini starter. They are on Amazon for around $50, Might even find it for $30-ish.. They resist heat soak way better, and no brushes to wear out.
