    6.2 conversion

I think the only thing you need to worry about is the possibility that the torque converter may be different for diesel use, other than that, I would suggest putting new gaskets and seals in, and send the heads for a freshening up, and you should be good 200 hp will be a stretch. I think the 6.2...

    Weird 700R4 issues

Yeah, once you get that cable adjusted, leave it withing a few clicks of that base setting, NEVER looser than full throttle. HOtRodPC is the resident mad scientist when it comes to transmissions. Alberta, Eh? what part? I know some folks in Division 6.

    Weird 700R4 issues

adjusting the TV is mainly alter line pressure, but will also move the shift points around Very minimally, because line pressure is a determining factor for shifting. The proper way to adjust the TV is to push the casing all the way back into the bracket, then manually rotate the throttle to...

    Chrome wheels

I would go with polished aluminum...Chrome comes off of steel wheels eventually, no matter what brand. I had ARE Chrome nuggets, replaced 1 because the chrome was coming off, then the other 3 followed 6 months later.

    New Truck Mysteries!

Stay away from Edelbrock carburetors, they have a fuel capacity defficiency, and fuel washes away from the jets if you corner too hard, the only fix for it is to re-design the float bowl with a dremel. The only good metering rod type carb is a Q Jet, other than that, Holley and Demon are the...

The never ending 700r4 Lockup questions haha

Ok, I know pin A is positive directly to the TCC solenoid. Pin D is the Ground side of the TCC? I dont know what B is connected to inside the trans. All the info I can find, is on the later 700r4, that had the auxilliary valve body(87^) you can go ahead andnd see if it pocks when you touch the...

The never ending 700r4 Lockup questions haha

Ok, we are going to need to stop until I can see exactly what we are dealing with in that trans. Pin B is supposed to be the high gear signal, but I dont know what it is in tha case of this trans.where was D going on the old setup?

The never ending 700r4 Lockup questions haha

Yes. it needs to go from the brake switch to A Lets do an experiment. take the wire from pin D, and run a wire that has a stripped end, so you can touch it to a ground while you are driving. Wire Pin A and the brake switch together. Drive up to 35, and ground the wire ran from d, and per all...

The never ending 700r4 Lockup questions haha

keep the wire going to the brake switch, and wire the rest per my post referring to pins A BCD on the trans plug. The one going to the brake switch is the positive power for lockup.

    Need vac help 86

Oy...ok. vac advance to pass side small port, pcv to large front port. plug drivers side small port. large port on rear of carb for brake booster. trans modulator to manifold vac. if no manifold tap for vac in the itake, use the drivers side carb port, which is straight vacuum.

    Need vac help 86

Brake booster goes to the large port on the back of the carb vac advance goes to one of the ported sourcec on the front of the carb base. Usually the drivers side port. trans modulator goes to direct vacuum, usually a port on the #8 cylinder runner, behind the carb. PCV usually goes to the...

need help not sure where to post so here it goes

If you dont need it, thats cool, and it should not have caused an issue. The easiest way to see whats going on is to at least hook the vac lines back up, and give her a whirl to see if the problem subsides or not.

need help not sure where to post so here it goes

Put everything back on, and see if it helps. Contrary to what most say, the smog pump does not rob enough power to be noticeable, unless the pump is starting to freez. Can you give us the 3 letter code from thebdiagram? and I am assuming the line that you plugged was to the AIR diverter valve?

4200 inline 6... Would it be enough?

Sounds like a great plan. Those HP and Tq figures were what my 86 350 was putting out from the factory. Non California was 165HP, then they jumped to 210 in 87.

4200 inline 6... Would it be enough?

would be more than enough, i would run 3.73 gears. Remember these trucks tooted along just fine with 155 hp, and 265 ft lbs tq.

Irish's pickup from hell, the 454SS.

Those are Purdy! Dijya feel how smooth that throttle action is? One thing, that 3/16 hex may prove to be even more of a cast iron bitch to get into the AFPR, so dial in the fuel pressure you want before she warms up all the way....it should be around 10 psi or so now. I had an allen key cut...

    Gutless Wonder

Leave the stock cam in, and change the exhaust valves to 1.7.....look out jack! works good on 4.3s too. TBI heads even wake the fuck up. Stock 1.94 intakes are fine, its the 2.02s that bring intake velocity down. SBC heads have always suffered in the exhaust area.

Yup, its pin G in the ALDL connector, not all of them had it. otherwise, look for a red pigtail coming off the Fuel relay plug.
