tbi issues, on my 88 gmt400

I dont remember if its this thread or not, but it has the part numbers for the rad shack capacitors, and you install one on each injector plug, betwix the power and ecm wires...basically jumping them with the capacitor. I wouldnt do it internal on the ECM.

tbi issues, on my 88 gmt400

Capacitors are $1 each...and there is no guarentee that the next ecm does'nt have the same issue. seems to be a widespread problem...even with mine, except with TPI, BLMs stuck to 128, NEVER moved, and the INT stayed really close to it.

hmmmmm, Well....the only other thing that comes to mind is if the EGR pintle is seating or not. Edit...Never mind. Maybe try the Capacitor thingy before shelling out for an ECM.

87 v10 tbi harness bulk head diagram

You Can, if you can get the pins for the firewall cavity, but its really not worth the time and effort. All the 86 harness does is starting and charging system, and oil and temp gauges. I think there is a constant power and a brake switch wire that goes to that cavity in an 87. just snip those...

    Knock/rattle from flywheel area

Tell the clutch to shut the fuck up, and get back to work.

87 v10 tbi harness bulk head diagram

86 and 87 bulkhead connectors will mate up, but are wired differently. leave the 86 harness in, and run the truck harness as a stand alone., with a 7747 ecm, dont use the camaro setup, unless you are into chip tuning.

You'll throw those 350 injectors back in faster than you took em out. Have you plugged the valve covers(pcv ports) and filled the crank case via the dipstick tube with propane yet? Chris, I had to replace a couple of those acorn rocker nuts last time, because they were'nt binding enough to keep...

    Fuel Problems, HELP!

Or an internal carb leak...especially if it is an untouched, factory Q jet with leaky plugs.

    Knock/rattle from flywheel area

Three on the tree is a manual trans. But yeah, cracked flexplate or Tq coverter bolts. If you do have the 3 speed Saginaw trans, Have someone press the clutch slightly to see if the noise dissapears. if it does, your throwout bearing may be toast. And at that point, just do a clutch job.

    Mufflers

Yeah, but the shop that stays in business for a long time says "Yes Sir" Which most of the time, is the case.

    Mufflers

Depends on what the shop charges for them.

Uh-oh: Dead Battery- one missing from Dual setup

And its an everstart. At least 600cca for a burb, more if its full power

tbi issues, on my 88 gmt400

Hmmm...this thing is acting like it has 305 injectors. If there was a diaphragm issue, ther would be fuel pouring out of the regulator, and fuel pressur would be way down...like when that rubber line in the tank is shot. Have you checked your valve adjustmets at all since putting the valve...

Uh-oh: Dead Battery- one missing from Dual setup

Nope, I would check the integrity of the wires in the charging system....A few broken strands in a wire, is like trying to use a kinked garden hose.

Uh-oh: Dead Battery- one missing from Dual setup

I have the same setup in my burb. The drivers side battery is part of the tow package, and is there to help with the extra load that trailer lights put on the system. i have an autozone yellow top battery in mine, and I have to say, it beats the shit outta the old Die Hard I had. Truck has been...

    '88 TBI 350 - multiple personalities

Did you do this with the key power on? I wanted you to power up the injectors, to see if maybe the ground wires from the ecm may have chaffed on something, and wer grounding out and dumping fuel. I didnt know you were back east...and its right there in front of me. Send them to Jon at...

Hmm....the only time I have seen smoke, is when the MAP vac line comes off, otherwise, it is supposed to run off the Calpack for limp home in the event of sensor loss like that. Not saying it didn't happen, but I will say I don't know everything, and just learned something new!
