    Brake line, opinions needed.

Everyone has solid advice for you. I will add this: buy a length of line and PRACTICE making double flare ends on something you won't need. This will be quality time spent learning and confirming your skills. After not having to make a double flare for a few years, I myself have made a...

    Windshield pinch weld / frame

I would strongly recommend taping it off and using some plastic or cardboard, then beg, borrow or steal a small sand blaster to completely remove all the corrosion before sealing with a quality epoxy - something with an etchant in it. This is your best chance to nip the rust in the bud...

    Sealing Windshield

The windshield mast (the rubber portion that attached to the body) is urethaned in. The portion that the glass sits in is NEVER to have sealer of any kind on it. When installing the windshield lace, NEVER, EVER, EVER, stretch the lace. If anything, the lace should be compressed as much as...

What have you done to your square lately??

Earlier this year, while I was away from my work, my Square suffered an incredible indignity - while parked, a Kenworth pulling an equipment trailer turned a corner waaaay to tight. Lucky for the driver, my Square protected the building by using itself as a shield for the business. The Square...

    Driver side tank not working.

Interesting how it is the Left tank that doesn't work. I would check and verify if it already qualifies for welfare, then kick it out of the basement and tell it get back to work.

    Dual tank question

I strongly advise you stay with the factory selector valve. It may be pricey and a pain to replace, but there has been considerable effort put in to the design of it. Have you also considered moving up to dual tanks? I am assuming you may have a long box square. Two twenty-gallon tanks...

    A big question

I can confirm the frame is certainly a 1978. If you are going to move forward keeping your project a 4x4, then great - if you are going to convert it to a 2wd, then you will need to deal with all of the crossmembers and mounts from the front cab mounts forward. The 4x4 frame for these years...

    Let's talk vehicle security...

Back in the day, I was based in Edmonton, Alberta. Because I only needed minimal accommodations (I was normally on the road, and the family was in another province,) I ended up renting a room in a boarding house in one of the less desirable neighborhoods. One evening, there was a knock on my...

    Spindle Contacts Wheel

My spindles are 3" drop. Yes, my 15" factory Rallyes fit...... BARELY. They are so close to the tie rod and the lower control arm, the lead portion of the inner wheelweight will not clear - actual clearance was about 3/32". For me, this was anticipated and a non-issue, as my plans are for...

    Truck dies at high speeds

As I have said before for others, install a fuel pressure regulator with gauge AFTER the filter. Without knowing the actual fuel pressure that the engine sees, you may end up chasing your tail. Another thought, considering the numbers of Woke people in the country, it is possible your truck...

    Guess The Tool

That would be for pulling chain links together. I have two different sizes of them.

What have you done to your square lately??

Never ate one. My Marine friend used to eat those first, so I had to settle for the bland purple ones..... still better than the silver ones (too much aftertaste.)

What have you done to your square lately??

I remember those knock sensors being VERY touchy if there was an exhaust leak nearby, or cheap shorty headers that would mimic a knock - then the timing would be retarded so bad the truck would drool and start eating all the green crayons. Fun times at the dealership in those days.......

What have you done to your square lately??

Myself, I would place the fuel filter before the regulator, as any restriction and associated pressure drop in the fuel filter is not controlled by the regulator AND the fuel going through the regulator is also filtered - contributing to longer life and accuracy.

What have you done to your square lately??

Complete rebuild of the front suspension. New bushings for the upper and lower control arms; upper and lower ball joints; all new steering linkage and now rebuilding the steering box.

    Frame Rivet Replacement

I have a few National Certifications as well as a Government Vehicle Inspection Certification (I am licensed to inspect everything except motorcycles, boats, cranes and aircraft,) and I have personally witnessed Grade 8 bolts fail. This is due to the fact there are many manufacturers (normally...

    Frame Rivet Replacement

I highly recommend using a reamer to finalize the bore of the holes. You have inferred this is a project you wish to be done correctly, and I applaud you. Unless you are replacing with hot rivets, any out of round condition will affect the soundness of the fastener. Remember to SLIGHTLY...

Poll -Would doing a LS swap in a CLEAN 1987 V10 INCREASE to DECREASE VALUE?

If you are looking to sell your truck, keep it stock - let whoever buys it change it to what they want. I have little regard for the value of anything if there is no intent to sell it. To claim it is worth this or that means nothing if somebody offers you a number and you pass it up. The...

Old dual tank location, what do do with space?

Taking a cue from the Great Robin Williams, and also accounting for the level of depravity in today's crumbling morals, may I suggest a pair of remote-mounted mini guns? Belt-fed through the box and remote controlled. Road ragers would soon be a distant memory and Wile E. Coyote would be jealous.

    Gorilla spray for headliner

Glues for headliners are often formulated so they don't become "crunchy" over time and not bleed through the fabric.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

In High School, one of the guys had a Vauxhall Viva. No room, no power, no heater, no air conditioning and no sound proofing. But it refused to die. One day, he was doing doughnuts in the High School parking lot and the car simply flipped on its side. So we let it sit there for a while...

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Back in the day, I bought an '89 Cavalier with a 4 cylinder 5-speed power steering delete - when I finally sold it, there was over 300000 miles on it. Years later, I bought a used Dodge 1500 2wd with the 318 in it and when I wrote it off after hitting an elk, it had almost 355000 miles on it...
