Kick down thingy on the dash on 84

Not tooooo versed in this but when swapping in a TH400 theres a B&M kit that mounts up to the carb linkage and sends the voltage signal to the trans when needed. This sounds like a an easy way to me. I've never done it but have heard guys use it with great success. I'm sure someone with more...

    Picture heavy. G10 nomad van

I'm excited to see better pics of it. I've been wanting a van to play around with but I'm going to live vicariously through you so that my wife doesnt kill me and I end up living actually in your van.

    Some useful data (possibly)

Good to know. I was working on a VATs bypass with one of those meters and it got me close, then I started just adding resistors to the bypass since it wasnt within the vehicle tolerance even though the meter had me "dialed" in". I ended up getting a Klein meter recently but still use the HF for...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Nice pick up. Something about those old vans, especially now a days when they are few and far between. 4x4 swap? LS Swap? Xbox one and some flat screens? Shag rug?

    6.0 LS into 86 C10

No problem. Do you have the the pedal and harness and do you know what year the 5.3 came out of? Complete swaps are selling for around 6-800 by me. More for an all aluminum later model engine.

    6.0 LS into 86 C10

If its a 700r4 then it will bolt to it. 700r4 and 4l60e are the same externally. That 5.3 looks to be drive by wire (do you have the pedal assembly and control module?) and it would be a pain to rig up the TV cable for the 700r4. If you're going to use the 5.3 either put a th350/400 behind it or...

    DIY paint??

Sorry to hear about whats going on? Did the body shops mention why they are turning away business? It sounds crazy to me.

Nice find. I'm a sucker for barn doors lol. You should be able to snag the radiators cheap enough between ebay and u pull it yards. Looks like it'll be a quick fix.

    Stiff gas pedal/odd shifting

Just trying to eliminate things here but off the top of my head I would make sure that the throttle cable and linkage geometry are all ok and also make sure the TV cable is ok. It may have come out of adjustment upon slacking the throttle cable. Read this article and post up if you have any...

    Stiff gas pedal/odd shifting

Can you give us some more info? Why'd you change it, was it doing this before? You sure its the same exact part? Did you change the throttle cable also?

How to pick the right jack+stands

I always over buy when it comes to that stuff. I also work on dirt and grass so I have an assortment of wood blocks, boards and cribbing. I have a set of those triangular base jack stands that I wouldnt stand on myself but its on to set light stuff on, imo.

The biggest problem is a just bought a 1965 Skylark and the transport truck is coming tomorrow. Otherwise I'd have a bird with a true LS1 donor for a swap. If I can come up with the cash within a couple of weeks I'll see if its around. She knows I can make money off it. Hell she'd probably want...

    1979 Trans Am - 25 years in a garage

Yea, auto car. I'm trying to figure out a way to sneak another car onto the property because it's definitely worth the money in a part out. There's 5-600 in exterior lights alone, front bumper is good, at least one fender is good. Ws6 hood is good but who knows if its original. Its much harder...

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to go poly on the sway bar links. That air cleaner idea sounds pretty sweet. I did do some reading on making the back of that scoop functional. Little details I'm wrestling with.

    Questions about 2000 2500hd

Intake gaskets as mentioned. Fuel pumps/pressure can be in issue with those era vortecs. If you have a fuel pressure gauge take it with you. With the ignition on it should hit 60-66 psi. Also check with it running, if you are dropping below 60 then you will have drivability/power issues. The...

We're all here to share thoughts and ideas and a lot of time no one asks for any of our opinion before we give it anyway. Its more like giving your experience and I think that is something to be considered. With that said I have no long term experience with a Poncho 400 aside from the 80 trans...

Adding Factory Roof Rack - Proper Mounting

Its a sit on Pelican 10 footer. We have a reservoir less then 2 miles from the house, we also have a lake about 5 miles away. River access to the Delaware is about 8 miles away depending where you want to go. We also have the Delaware Water Gap and its access points about 12 miles away. A few...

Its a high dollar car so I honestly dont care about originality...but if I were gonna drop coin on this I woulda taken that 400 you canned and plopped it in my car.
