    What is this part??

Not super sure, but I believe it's meant to either link the block and trans to relieve some stress or the block to the frame so you don't have as much torque on the motor mounts.

Wich oil pan do I need?

I've been using one of the blue fel-pro ones. Haven't noticed any leaks with it... at least nothing as bad as my cork valve cover gaskets!

    First time engine rebuild

Just cracked the covers off the heads on the truck. Casting number is 3973487 A little research shows that they're either 1.94/1.5 or 2.02/1.6 valves with a 75/6cc chamber. They're the original heads, so anyway to know which one it is without pulling them from the block? Also, what are the...

this is the oddest thing thing..ever..i have no headlights after changing my WP

Any luck yet? I know the headlights are run in parallel, but what's the possibility that you pulled the connections loose in the headlight plugs? Do you have no headlights at all? Only one? Lows or Highs only?

Anyone recognize this lift? What is it?

There's no difference between the mounting pattern for the same transmission between 2wd & 4wd. Not 100% about the internals though. I BELIEVE that the only major difference between them is the 2wd's typically have a yoke or a slip joint output and the 4wd's have an output shaft designed to go...

(203 transfer) gear selection not accurate?

Locked 203 = putting it in a Loc gear. You could try one quick thing that will easily tell you whether it's been converted or not. For the front driveshaft, Mark the yoke to the ujoint with a paint pen (to ensure proper orientation after). Then ubolt it and tie it up real quick. Throw the...

(203 transfer) gear selection not accurate?

You may not have fully engaged the HiLoc? Sometimes its still in Hi when you think it's locked. If you have a part time kit, It would be: 4LoLoc 2Lo N 2Hi 4HiLoc With the 203 unlocked, you have 3 open differentials. Spining any 1 tire = full power to THAT tire = stuck. Locked 203...

    No gears with non-tilt column (74 k10 w/ th350)

The Solanos guys a little bit away, but not too awful far. Got a good handful of yards around here down in Wilmington/Long Beach, over in Garden Grove/Stanton/Anaheim, out in Torrance/Gardena as well. Gotta focus on school for the next few weeks, but when I get the time, gonna pull out the...

Anyone recognize this lift? What is it?

Spring rate. Given a spring with the same arch (or no arch) and length, a thicker leaf will take more weight per inch compressed versus a thinner leaf. i.e. pounds per inch. Factory specifications were labeled in pounds (the total weight a given spring pack could reliably and safely carry...

Anyone recognize this lift? What is it?

Fronts are 48in. eye to eye. the amount of leaves doesn't necessarily matter since they could be different spring rates. Could have a 3-leaf pack with thinner leaves be a softer spring rate than a 2-leaf pack with thick leaves. Stock springs have a negative arch to them when mounted. Just...

(203 transfer) gear selection not accurate?

NP203 Pattern: LoLoc Lo N Hi HiLoc (HiLoc closest to seat, LoLoc closest to dash) -Loc only signifies that the front and rear axles will rotate at the same rate. So, the transfer case acts as a locked differential. If you're in loc, you need to spin 1 wheel on the front AND rear to be stuck...

Did you get a set of HD springs meant for the big block or a winch bumper? Could be a high spring rate pushing you up extra high.

Cool color. Definitely don't see too many around. But the real question is, how much lift ya got going on there?

Alright no worries. Was just curious about it. Never even thought about the routing of the original setup either.

What have you done to your square lately??

skysurfer; wouldn't you want the lowest line on the cooler to be the return? If you happened to get a leak in the cooler, you wouldn't be pulling air through the lines to the trans.

Anyone recognize this lift? What is it?

I used to run 32x10.5R15 Yokohama Geloander AT/S on a set of 15x10's with 4 in backspacing on no lift. Never had an issue rubbing on the streets. Old 33" coopers on the same wheels rubbed while turning through a dip.

    77 911 - Getting it going again

I'll try to remember about the push rods. I'm planning on doing a full drain and flush before any new fluid goes in.
