    Bend in front leaf spring

Looks like the springs are worn out and the kink is caused by axle wrap.

Fuel lines: Aluminum vs Steel vs Stainless

I've played the guessing game before with starters, went through 3 before finding one with the correct mounting position. Pre-bent fuel lines will probably be the same show too. Order 4-5, and one or none will fit. My carb is a passenger inlet with the mech fuel pump having around a -45 deg...

Fuel lines: Aluminum vs Steel vs Stainless

Any of you guys used parts from Right Stuff Detailing? Saw that they have pre-bent fuel pump to carb lines at a decent price already: https://www.getdiscbrakes.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=TPC7301S Which one looks to be the correct one for a 350 w/ Quadrajet? TPC7301 MPC7701S MPC7701

Fuel lines: Aluminum vs Steel vs Stainless

The hot starting issue would be that if I ran errands around town, and truck got all warmed up... if I would stop and go start her up again, it was though the starter didnt have enough torque to spin the engine well. This was with a stock starter and a high torque replacement. Different...

Fuel lines: Aluminum vs Steel vs Stainless

Thanks for all the help guys. Was definitely planning on using a tubing bender for it, was just mainly unsure of what material would be best. Prior to the current engine rebuild, the truck had a hard time starting once hot. Even though the fuel line had been wrapped previously by my father a...

Fuel lines: Aluminum vs Steel vs Stainless

I'm planning on hand bending new fuel line for my truck. Specs: Mechanical Fuel Pump to a Quadrajet on a 350 SBC with full accessories on a street driven truck. The issue: what material to go with? Measured out the old line at 5/16" tubing (measuring ID with Mitutoyo calipers came out to...

    Leaf Spring ording

If you compare two spring packs that contain equally thick leaves and same eye to eye distance, the pack with more springs will have a heavier carrying capacity as well as having a harsher ride. Most spring packs utilize similar thicknesses of springs. Custom packs may utilize varying...

Thinking about a swap but want to keep my tranny

You could go super unique and run a twin turbo'd SR20 and make an adapter to your trans. Rebuild your 350 and throw a supercharger or turbo on it. Stroke it out to a 383 Swap it to a inline 6.... tons of options.

    Headers

Got some cheap headers. I think they're flowtech's. How long do you think it'll take for all the paint to burn off? Planning on spraying them with VHT exhaust paint.

Help need with lift choices and the law

I've got a 4" lift in the front, 4" shackle flip in the back with 35" BFG KO2's. Running around town was fine, but large bumps while turning contacted the fenders. Added a leaf and a 3/4" block helped out a lot. Wanted more height, so added a 2" body lift. Needed to extend the shift linkage...

    Headlights

Normally, the relay harness is on its own. Plugs in between the normal headlight harness and the headlights with direct power from the battery. For the round eyes, they plug into the H4 headlight connector and then pull power directly from the battery to the headlights. The power from the...

    Leaf Spring ording

Apologies for the misinformation in previous post. Truck had 7 or 8 52" leaves with an overload and a 3/4" block. I took it down to a 6+1 leaf pack. I flipped the overload spring to allow the pack to flex more while still having the overload with a pretty heavy load. Some say to not to flip the...

    Leaf Spring ording

Welcome! When I started driving my truck it had the stock 3 leaf pack in the front and 6 leaves in the rear. It was set up to continuously haul an over the cab camper. Those added leaves allowed the truck to sit level. Was estimated around 1000-1200 lbs to sit level. Got rid of the camper, and...

    DIY Oil Pump Pickup Tool

I'll give that a whirl. Thanks. I also got one of those bolt on brackets to hold on the pickup tube. Will probably throw a quick tack or two on it as well so it'll be less likely to spin. Already have the materials lying around for the tool, so may just make that in the spare time too.

    DIY Oil Pump Pickup Tool

So, tried the 5/8's wrench route. That didn't work very well. Not willing to spend the $70 for the Melling one. So, gonna try to make one myself. Figuring I'll take two plates of 1/4" steel and weld em together. Run a 1/2" bolt through em and stick it all together. Cut it in half, and run a...

Need opinions on sagging leaf spring and dual shocks to single

Can't help with going from quad shocks to standard singles, but i'd take a look at the pack to make sure that one isn't cracked or anything. If you have a local spring shop, I'd pull both packs and take em to get them evened out. Would probably be a ton cheaper than getting a new set of springs.

    Intake manifold rust

Good to see it got all cleaned up. I got the same issue with my manifold. Started to clean it, got stopped in the middle and a little bit of light surface rust on the inside. I'll see if I can find a long wire cone for a die grinder.
