    52in to 56in spring swap

I've always heard that the best shackle angles tend to be right around 22-25° from vertical towards the rear.

    52in to 56in spring swap

If I remember correctly, that's all you need to do. Swap them side to side so they're angled back for the 56's. Angled forward for the 52's. I can't remember if it's the same idea with the stock shackle hangers or if they're physically moved back on the frame.

Snow wheeling. Now I want to re-configure...

Just to correct any confusion, I haven't tested the full flex numbers of the shackle flip yet. The 20-22" travel numbers was for the cantilever I'm trying to come up with. I try to make the posts as detailed as possible so that others can have a better understanding to compare or get the help...

Help need with lift choices and the law

Posted in another thread, but same information applies here. I went with ORD's 4" shackle flip with their stock length HD shackles and all new greaseable poly bushings and bolts in the entire rear end. I removed a leaf or two (7+1 or 8+1 down to a 6+1 pack) from the rear 52" spring pack as...

    73-74 GMC Tailgate Trim questions

Welp... walked out to the truck and guess no access panel. Coulda swore there was, must've been my buddies yota that i was thinking of. Gotta be them barrel clips then. Probably just pop those in and push the emblem into place.

    73-74 GMC Tailgate Trim questions

We had to pull off the inner panel to access the bolts to the tailgate band. I'd assume its the same for that emblem.

    73-74 GMC Tailgate Trim questions

Maybe its a difference in the years? My 74 has speed nuts for the cab trim, grille emblem, and the tailgate band emblem. No barrel nuts to be seen.

    73-74 GMC Tailgate Trim questions

Speed nuts self thread onto those pegs. Just gotta insert and start threading them on. It's the same for the grille emblems.

Snow wheeling. Now I want to re-configure...

Didnt realize you were in that deep of snow. Was thinking more like 12-18" so that a narrow tire would help you get down into the dirt a bit more. I went with ORD's 4" shackle flip with their stock length HD shackles and all new greaseable poly bushings and bolts in the entire rear end. I...

Snow wheeling. Now I want to re-configure...

I dont know much about sled pulling, but sounds like your tires are digging a little hole then pulling themselves out when they find something a little more compact. I've always heard that you want narrower tires for snow and mud so it digs into the solid stuff below instead of riding on the...

    AC Delco professional shocks

The RS9000XL series shocks are adjustable via a 9-position knob on the bottom of the shock. It adjusts the dampening to the shock from pretty light to relatively stiff. The RS5000 series shocks are non-adjustable. I believe I have mine set to around 5, with 1 being lowest, 9 highest. At 1 its...

    AC Delco professional shocks

What sort of budget are you looking at? I really like my Rancho RS9000XL shocks over the old Dick Cepek's that were on my truck before. The RS9000XL series has a knob-adjustable valve to easily tune it to different settings based on road conditions and load being carried. There's also the much...

    are we there yet project

Sad to say it looks like it was done by a first timer. I'd be very disappointed with that the work was done. I'd continue with the project, while finding a better shop to do the panels in the meantime. If the panels fit well, but just shoddy welds, then i'd grind it down and have them redone...

MagnaFlow vs Flowmaster vs Straight Pipes

My old setup: 350 .030" over with a mild cam, stock heads into stock exhaust manifolds into true duals 2" pipe into two Flowmaster 40's 2.5" SI/SO. Had no exhaust tip or anything, just dumped under the bed. Was so droney at anything other than an idle, couldn't carry a conversation without...

    Post your interiors

Was thinking of putting a pair of speakers under the dash point down at the floor, wonder how well they'd do there. Not as direct to your ears as the kick panels, but they would be out of the way.
