Worn Rear Shock Mounting Hole (Slotted)

@Jrgunn5150 Shouldn't see a considerable load, but if that bolt is a touch loose or the bushings wear and cause it to be loose, then the bolt will shift and wear out the hold causing the slotting. I believe the single shear for the shock is what caused some frames to crack that resulted in this...

    Just Left Shop Help Pls!!??

I also vote that each major issue should be split into a separate thread to help keep things on track as well. @ChevroletChic3318 You can use the +Multi tab on the bottom of posts to reply to several posts in one go versus having separate quotes for each one. Should make it a little bit easier...

Worn Rear Shock Mounting Hole (Slotted)

I'd plate it inside and out of the frame. Bolt the two plates together in place, tack it, remove bolt and weld it through. Additionally, you could make it stronger by using a very short piece of tubing with the same ID as the OD of the bolt, then plate around it.

What is your daily if not square body?

My daily is a 99 yukon 4wd with the barn doors. Everything is stock except seat covers and all terrain tires.

    Interior dash light

For my truck just had to pull the bezel, the lens, then each gauge and just poked em in the back. Didnt have to mess with pulling out the instrument cluster or the dash pad. Make sure to get some higher quality leds (size 168/194) otherwise they'll start to flicker after a while due to being...

    Mechanical pump pressure regulator

Good to hear the new pump helped it out a ton as well as some issues with the carb. Kinda jealous of your mpg!

    Mechanical to electric cooling fan

Im currently making a dual 14" shroud for my truck. I've got the smaller 350 radiator, not the BB one. We'll have to see how those two fans do, think the each pulled around 10-15 amps too. Using Pro Comp 14" (Curved blade) fans and a flex-a-lite controller with the pipe threaded sensor, not the...

Dana 44 front wheel bearings need tightening?

Good to hear you got her all set without too much trouble! Definitely sounds like its a much harder job than it actually is.

    EGR Valve: Keep or Remove?

I'd like to be able to take my truck on up to the mountains during the winter and not have any issues with her warming up. I'm swapping to headers, so i'm gonna lose that heat riser unless I find a new way to stick it on there.

    EGR Valve: Keep or Remove?

Truck's a 74 in CA, so i'm smog exempt. I read a little on another forum that it helps the engine warm up in the winter, but I thought that was the job of the exhaust crossover, not the recirculating valve?

Well crap! Wife in a Car Accident.

Good to hear he's doing better. Cars can get fixed a lot easier than we all can. Soon enough it'll all be back together.

    EGR Valve: Keep or Remove?

74 sbc 350 0.030" over with a hyd. tappet 12-238-2 comp cam, 76cc 882 heads (1.94/1.5 and 1.5 rockers), -3.5cc domed pistons factory intake manifold w/ 4bbl quadrajet. Edited engine specs for more accurate. I'm planning on going to 10:1 or 10.5:1 at a later date as well. Is it more beneficial...

Dana 44 front wheel bearings need tightening?

It's not super hard to do, just kind of tedious and you'll get pretty covered in grease. Definitely get the socket, should take maybe half a day to do as long as you've got everything you need right with you from the get go. Let us know how it goes for ya, I had mine get all messed up when the...

Driveway leaf springs and shock replacement or pay $600?

Done it on the front and rear of my truck. Soak everything with pb blaster for a few days prior so its ready when ya wanna take it out Depending on the spring pack thickness, you may or may not need new ubolts. Big pry bar can be helpful to get the spring eye out of the front holders. Lift...

    steering pulling to right

No idea if one can or not. I would believe so. I went with a 150amp powermaster alternator when mine died last year.

    steering pulling to right

Truck used to have a low idle when plugs would foul out. With the new tires (35's) and a low idle, my pump didnt seem to have enough power to turn at a stop idling in park. You could feel the rpms and chugging through the steering wheel. Makes ya wonder if that means my pump is starting to go...

New guy from San Diego (Ramona)

Welcome to the board! I'm up in the LA area myself. Slowly the california presence is increasing! You can learn a ton more by fixing her up than writing a check for a brand new truck that you can't do nothing with.

    LEDs and electronic flashers

I bought ebay specials for the leds, but they ended up flickering after a while. Plus the color isn't always the same if you get while. Some are a pure white where others would be closer to daylight. For flashers, I purchased the wrong pinout one from superbrightleds. Would've worked great if i...

What have you done to your square lately??

Currently painting up the heads, intake manifold and doing some touch up spots on the block that got missed. Should be all good to go soon! Gonna pressure wash the engine bay and wheel down the light rust on the frame and spray her up a rustoleum gloss black. Painted almost all the brackets...

What have you done to your square lately??

I'd keep it as well. Got mine redone by a local shop when I first started driving her. Went from the perforated vinyl to a soft fabric. Was less than $100 for them redo the foam backing since it was falling apart at the visor corners. Only material they could have gotten thatwas similar to oem...

    Friction modifier?

And I was thinking the solution was to add louder exhaust or just remove it entirely
