    Engine bay clean up

You could go with that hemi cuda blurple. Or that newly popular burnt orange. I like the time period colors. If it would've been gold, make it gold. Black? Make it black. Blue? Make it blue. Or you can go the color matched route too. Some of those look real clean in a tip top engine bay.

    First time engine rebuild

Was that a short, long, or fully assembled block? Do you remember the specs of the one you ordered up?

    Body lift

With the 2" or higher, you will need to extend the gear shift linkage between the steering column and the transmission. Make sure to loosen it prior to raising the body, otherwise you'll blow apart the shift tube inside the column and be in the same predicament that I'm in with finding a...

4in and 35s lets see them

On mine, I had more issue with the tires contacting the front of the fenders much quicker than the rear of them.

    First time engine rebuild

Gonna come soonish. Best case scenario plan at the moment is to pull the engine, strip it all down, rehone, rering, and rebuild the heads. Gonna check all the bearings of course, but retro roller cam will be saved for the future.

    Sway Bar

Glad to hear you got it all in pretty quick and easy. It definitely helps limit the body roll through turns.

    86 K10 5.3 swap

My guess is it would work better if you pumped it through the intake or heated up the cleaner. The heat would help loosen up the deposits and the pump would keep it all flowing and add friction into the mix to knock off anything a little more solid.

    Sway Bar Quick Disconnect

ORD has a quick disconnect/correction kit. I'm not sure if they have one large enough to work with an 8" lift. It works great on my truck with 4-5" (maybe 6") of lift. It's pretty much a heavy duty shackle with one tube'd end and one open. Slips around the sway bar bushings just fine. Utilizes...

    Engine and trans numbers

I'm not familiar with the casting number locations, but you can check the RPO code list inside the glove box which should tell you all the options your truck left the factory with. Unfortunately, that won't help much if the truck has been swapped around between manufacturing and today...

    1978 k10 suspension/tire project

Rule of thumb for 33's is Street only: 2" lift Offroading: 4" lift For the lift, how are you planning to so it? Spring back in the front and rear? Rear lift blocks? Add a leaf to the packs? If going all spring, look at the individual spring rate. The higher the rate, the stiffer the spring...

    Change 82 grille to a 87 grille

Not sure if they ever changed, but the foot switch on my 74 is only mounted with 2 screws inside the cab. Not on the exterior.

    Tires.

I love my BFG TA KO2's. Great in the dirt and mud while still handling well on the street. Running a set of Kumho Road Venture AT51 on my 99 tahoe. They ride real smooth and quiet. Havent tried em in the dirt, mud, or snow yet... but supposed to be a 10/10 for snow. Used to run a set of...

    31x10.5R15 vs. P215 75R15

Most of the 6 lugger toyotas use the 6x5.5 bolt pattern. Typically a __"x8" wheel too. They'd make great trail wheels that you wouldn't mind bashing up. Nothing wrong with a P series tire vs LT if it's mainly street driven. LT's almost always have a higher load rating, thicker sidewalls, and...

    Expedition Type Bed Rack/Rails

The infamous harbor freight tube kinker! It'll get the job done with some simple modifications. The rollers do end up leaving small dimples in the tubes though. It depends on how strong you want it. I was planning the flat bar for atop the rails to link all the cross tubes together as well as...

    Junk yard parts to pick

I know you're looking more for factory parts, but I've got a Bussmann RTMR fuse box added in my truck. 5 relays and 10 fuses. They also make one with 10 relays, but it's considerably bigger.

    Expedition Type Bed Rack/Rails

My thought was to use flat stock to lay on top of the rails with tube going into each stake hole. A bolt through the front 4 stake holes will lock it into place. Use rubber or neoprene strip for a gasket to prevent damage to the bed rails. It was someone elses drawing that I found on...

Anyone recognize this lift? What is it?

Check the manufacturer specs for the tires you want. They'll show the max and minimum wheel width for each tire size. I believe 8" is well within the range, though.

    Venturi to increase exhaust?

chengny; just finished my final on monday for my fluid mechanics class. Some super interesting stuff, by maaan its a lot. I feel like as long as you could direct the airflow purely downwind in the exhaust, there would be an improvement. But only if the ambient air was building a higher...

    Venturi to increase exhaust?

For anything with o2 sensors you'd have to place it way after that. Otherwise you'll skew the readings into appearing that its running extremely lean, then ecm will dump fuel into it to counter the "lean" mixture, thus running extremely rich. You'd also probably have to determine what the...
