It's been a long time since I updated, got a ton of work done to the truck. For starters I rebuilt the 14 bolt semi floater, got rid of the gov bomb posi unit and replaced it with a Detroit locker. I got an even better idea, I'm tired of dealing with the factory tank so I'm throwing it in the garbage and installing a 15 gallon fuel cell where the spare tire goes. I opted out of the fuel command system just to reduce clutter, I wanted to build my own fuel system but failed. The specs on the tpi pump showed clear into the 100psi range but pressure vs. flow put it right around 40. It's already got stainless braided hose from the tank with an fittings so I...- Irishman999

Fi tech is awesome, I'm just having hell getting fuel to it. You can gently drive it around no problem, as soon as you nail it the engine dies. Still far from road ready, long ways from a dyno or strip.- Irishman999

Well I ended up going on medical leave early this year so used my free time to get the truck running again. I went with a dart tunnel ram intake, Fi tech fuel injection and cut an enormous hole in the hood so I could bolt on a harwood fiberglass cowl and now it all fits nicely under the hood...- Irishman999

Upgraded to a later model alternator and need help.
The truck is a 1990 with a big block. I used a qwik-performance kit to mount sbc aluminum accessory brackets to the engine and had to install a alternator for a late 90's truck. The plug that goes into the old alternator only has one wire, any suggestions on how to make this new alternator work...- Irishman999

help with tuning 350sbc - no vacuum
It should read full vacuum at idle with the butterflies on the carb closed, if you open the throttle the vacuum is supposed to drop. Is it possible you have some kind of huge vacuum leak somewhere? Maybe your gauge is shit.- Irishman999

So I was installing my sbc serpentine system yesterday and the ear that the ac compressor bolts to hit the valve cover. I massaged it down with a grinder for several hours, to the point it was going to get into threads. Then I glued a heli-coil in the threads and decided to grind it all the way...- Irishman999

This is also a great option, I saw something like this pop up somewhere because of all the searching I have been doing. To make this work I gotta figure out how to design the part in auto cad. I got the qwik-performance adapter plates installed, aluminum sbc brackets are back from getting cleaned. I got a new power steering pump, got the old one taken apart so I could re-use the reservoir. When you said you were a CNC programmer/machinist my heart skipped a beat! Im at a dead end with the spacer, im getting stuff ready to try and manual machine it with my harbor freight mill. TPI is a HUGE upgrade for a small block chevy, When I got the 95 Impala I could not believe how quick it was, it seriously shags ass. I was planning on replacing the intake manifold with an edelbrock intake for a corvette. You will need late model heads to bolt it on only because of bolt hole...- Irishman999
