    Ball Joint Replacement First Time!

Just press the joints into the knuckle , start your sleeve in the top , slide the knuckle into place , torque the lower nut to 35lbs. Then torque your sleeve to 50lbs , (need the socket) , then torque your upper nut to 90lbs , then the lower nut to 75lbs , done. There is no perfect torque...

    Looking for big block advice.

If you want real grunt go with a stroker kit , ( no subsitute for cube's) imo. If you don't want to go that route you need to run your head number's to see what you have , if they are peanut ports you should file them in the nearest dumpster and get some head's , (big oval's). If you want the...

    Steering arm removal

Those cone washers are a bitch , I have never heard of a tool to get them out and trying to wedge anything between the arm and the axle will not work. Hitting downward and sideways on the arm is the way to go , (and it takes a while). If you can get them to pop up just a tiny bit you can take a...

Are these overload springs worth installing?

I had those years ago on a 75 k 20 and they worked great , but the ride was not so good. I would take off the u-bolts when I was not loaded for a better ride. There are a lot better set ups today but for 25 bucks , and crank the u-bolts a little to raise the old springs up a bit I would go for...

    77 3/4 Ton Lift question??

I wish they made the doug nash hub for the 203 still (bullit proof) ,but they dont. I have not had any problems with the other kit's other than they wear out faster but I have not put enough miles on one to know for sure. Most of my trucks I have converted to the 205 case. I dont think you...

    Automatic to Standard Trans Swap

I think a 87 truck had a hyd. clutch set up. Would that be easyer to deal with than drilling the frame and such for the 77 linkage set up , (just wondering).

Centerline hellcat's and they are gay looking , plus they will not polish for shit with the scrapes and all those line's and such , run away now!!!!!!! :suicide::suicide:

    2-2.5" Lift Kits?

If it was me I would throw an 8" on it and be done , LOL , but if you have to go down grab a skyjacker 2.5" , all spring from summit. Everyone has there own idea on brand's , (like chevy and ford) , but I have had good luck with skyjacker softride. Alot of guy's like tuff country as well...

    77 3/4 Ton Lift question??

6" lift no problem T-case , I would put a part time kit in the case and locking hubs on the front , but that's just me. You dont have to but I would. Drivelines , they will work with a 6" but you will wear out your slip yokes a lot faster because they dont have as much spline's in the...

    K10 6 lug to K20 8 lug???

Just to throw something out here hot rod , two times , (out of many times I have done the 8lug swap and only 70's truck's) I have had the brake petal become soft after doing the swap , with the brake light on the dash come on. No air in the system. (wierd)!!!! Anyway I thought that maybe the...

    500hp 350 carbureted and 700r4

I have built quite a few big blocks that have been very pump friendly and putting out 450 to 550 hp range and are friendly on the street. Anyway , a motor build would be a long story but a well built 454 or stroker combo with 10 to1 , aluminum heads , retro fit roller cam , 4l80e , (because you...

    500hp 350 carbureted and 700r4

HOLY CRAP !!!!!!!!!!!! Thats bad ass , you dont see many street trucks hook like that. Thats what I am talking about when I said if you hook you may want to up grade your rear end , FOR SURE. My 68 camaro I had with a 12 bolt , (super brute with red springs , moser axle's) in the back hooked...

any luck with World Products or Dart heads?

afr's are the bomb in my book. I ran a set of sportsman 2's on a fairly wild 350 and I was very happy.

    500hp 350 carbureted and 700r4

IMO , 500+ horse power with a smallblock , with pump gas , and a daily driver is going to be a task. Not that you can't do it but it would be a lot easyer with a big block for a daily , pump gas , driver. Like hot rod said as well you will need to beef out the 700r or do a tranny change. As far...

Newer lifted trucks have bed sag?

Around here the young crowd calls it the , (THE CALI. LEAN). I think it's totally lame looking , but it's the new fad , but it's not for me. :Frustrated::Frustrated::Frustrated::Frustrated::Frustrated:

    Rough country lift + ?

You can still run it with 3.08's , it will just be a little doggie with those gear's and 33's , (if thats your tire size). Also , big tire's and no gear's are hard on trannies , but if you drive it like a white guy you should be fine.

    87 Truck High steer

Only if you have to , I had to because I have the 0 rate block in the front and the cross over bar hit the leaf spring , but if I did'nt have that the 1" 0 rate block would not have used the spacer.Look at my pic's and you will see both block's , (the 0 rate and the 3" steering spacer).

New Leaf Springs vs. Re-Arched with Add a leaf

I have done two of my k-20's with the add a leaf and re arch thing and it worked out great for me. However I did not go with a thick aftermarket add a leaf , just stock thickness. Our local spring shop is really good , so I guess it depends on the shop. I told them I needed two inches of lift...

    brand new blower motor!!!

I would pull it out and run it off a batt. on the bench and see what it does , then you will know if the motor is good.

    Rough country lift + ?

Some late model 205's had the slip yoke in the case , (not on the driveshaft) so if that is the style you have you may have to drop it a bit , but maybe not , drive it and you will know.

    A couple questions

I am not getting the shackle thing up front , (we need pic's). As for the rear , a lot bone heads swap in 14 bolts in half tons with out swaping out the half ton top plates which makes the u-bolts all angle in to get through the half ton top plates. But again we need pic's to be sure whats...

    Rough country lift + ?

I would install your lift , (double check everything) , and take her for a spin down the hwy. at 65 ish and if you have no vibrations you are good to go. I cant remember what t-case came in a 1980 truck , 203/205 or a 208 , if it's a 203 or 205 you problably wont have to do anything with the...

please take look at this picture about to purchase c20

I have done a couple of mine and I marked the nut before removal , then put it back to the same mark , (maybe a tic more) , and used lock tight. No problems , it takes a lot to crush the crush sleeve. However I did it two man style by hand , not with an impact gun.
